7.5 8.5 9.5?
Just to kinda give you the scoop...im graduating from college soon and my wife grad.. 2 wks ago so to reward myself im getting my first new car. The car has to be a 350z. Ive elected to go with after market rims and tires. Ive read a few of your comments on lip size or length, and dwho likes 8.5 9.5 whatever better. I found some rims and tires for a reasonably good price, not to mention the rims look really sweet, but there 19x7.5 offst 45..is this a good thing or a bad thing? Should I go with them or keep looking. The rims are on Bigwheels.net Bazo B52. go to tires for my car and type in 350z. I have a couple of months until I get elanor so im getting a little anxious. I will most definatly take some good advise I work on hearts not cars.
Id say go with the 8.5s that they have all around...
7.5 is narrower than stock, so Id say you wont be happy, as they are most probably heavier than stock, narrower than stock, you will be losing in every category except appearance, tho that look is not rare, I know Ive seen other rims similair, but I cant think of names...
for that price, Id personally say go about 500$ more for all 4 rims, and you can come up with some real nice forged 19" rims. for what they are, they are not real cheap.

take a peek there, be warned that your gonna pay ALOT for chrome rims, like 100-200$ more PER RIM.
19 x 7.5 Silver/White $360.00
19 x 7.5 Chrome $505.00
thats the C5evo. big jump for an identical tire with a different finish. also alot of high end rims wont do chrome, tho Im not entirely sure why.

I had 7.5's with 42mm offset... they looked horrible... tucked inside the fenders by about 1.6"
It was nasty... I had to get spacers to make them look right.. plus I could only put 235's on them and that's WAY to narrow for a Z.
Best get 8.5 or 9.5's
I have 8.5 fronts with 245's and 9.5 rears with 285's now... I'm much happier

check the south east forum, I know they go to hooters every first tuesday of each month. just missed it tho, but next month. theres also the occasional weekend meet. there was one last saterday, alot of fun, good selection of rims to see in the group. keep an eye on the regional forum, and dont forget about nopi in september.

I found some rims the same style but instead of 7.5 there 8.5...hopfully this will work out..but I have one more question the offset says 45...when i look at everyone's offset its usually lower like 33 or 20 somthing...is this ok or should i continue my search?
I found some rims I like ummmmm 19x8.5 offset38...diamond cut..actually cheaper and they look better...I feel like such a dork I seem to be so uneducated when it comes to this stuff....hey but im a quick learner...
That would work, but 38 is on the higher side... they will sit about 1/4" inside more than the stock wheels....
Not a big deal, but in my opinion the stock wheels sit too far inside as it is... thats why I'm running 20mm offset with my 8.5 in front.

why should he get a G35? I guess we should be born knowing about rims?
anyway, cheaper ussually leads to a downside somewhere, so be careful, there are ALOT of things that go into a tires price, appearance is really not even there. some of the most expensive rims are ugly as hell, and some of the cheapest are the best looking. but when your in your car driving, its the expensive ones that will feel the best, be sure to get somewhere inbetween.
anyway, Im curious what tires your finding that arent coming in 9.5 sizes, it would lead me to believe maybe they werent intended for a sports car with those widths. but thats ok.
your question was will a 8.5" 38offset work. yes they will. I have about that on my front, I think mines 35 but I have 18s. anyway, on the back thats still gonna be a bit tucked, but on the front it would be fine.
however when we all say tucked, probably no more so than stock, we were all just wanting them to come out more than stock.

Im so frustrated..I agree with the fact that the wheels should be alittle further out....Im just finding it hard to find rims that are 9.5 with smaller offset...I live in middle Ga the boonies there is nothing around here and no one around to ask....so I look online the website you gave me was cool ...but ya know I dont know if I want to go with volk since everyone else is...the post with that guys gunmetal and polish was great looking but he said his were custom made....maybe Im just looking in the wrong places...THE SEARCH CONTINUES....
volk would be considered a premier brand. TE37 is one of the most popular rims on the Z, but all in all, youll find that maybe 3-5 of each style of volk rim make it into the US each month. they are VERY VERY exclusive, go to any other car forum, and your lucky if you find 2 or 3 volks. I know that I went to the car meet here in GA, 15 people or so, I was the only person there with rays other than track rims.
do you have a price your lookin to spend? that might help to give you some brands to look into.
volks are gonna be 2-2400. and expect to pay 8-1000 for tires depending on what size you get.

I ve decided to try the volk gt7 19"....I went to a different forum and your right not too many had these rims...although I will go chrome instead of gunmetal....the price isnt my biggest problem I can pretty much get what I want...but Im not going to pay too much for one thing when I can get the same looking rim cheaper...but you have a point you really get what you pay for. so I guess ill go with volk ..I call armando's pmp number and left a msg on their machine for him to give me a call...Ill shoot for 20-30 for the front and 20-25 for the back. Ill request that it be 8.5 front and 9.5 or close on back..if this is possible, thanx for your help on this matter again..
you will not be dissappointed with rays rims, they are definitly one of the most reputable brands on the market. tho as with any custom finish, it will have to be made and shipped from japan, doubtful youll find it on a shelf. but it will be WELL worth it.
now you gotta post pics when they come.
now you gotta post pics when they come.
ill be sure to post them when they come..i guess now that ive found the rims looks like ill be lowering it a bit...a friend of mine is trying to talk me into getting a flame thrower kit for it...dont think ill go that far...I have designed a custom box with some black lighting to match the brickyard color its going be a pretty sweet set up....when everythings done ill be looking to join the gathering here in GA.
