i just went back and saw the tire stretch picutres showing the "vip" look. i have driven on both stretched, balooned, and symetrical tires. the standard "vip" look actually held very well considering the actual tread width. the one and only thing it gains is tread flex that compared to the same exact tire on a smaller rim is inertia. when the tire is at \ /wall, there is no flex in the tire at all, and no they don't unbead on a speed bump. VERY responsive. ballooned they can create the same effect, fighting against the side wall. running tires square with the rim is usually due to class rules or straight line.
if ya wanna get technical, for the best performance, nothing beats more rubber to the road, but differentdriving styles need to be adapted for the rim/tire/psi to make the car handle it's best baised on weight balance and driver feel.

^thank you, finally someone who actually knows what the #%ll they're talking about 95% of the people have never ran a wheel/tire setup that I would even consider remotely aggresive but yet consider themselves qualified to bash other people for doing them essentially..... so thank you overzealous1 for chiming in....

Well, let's not just spout subjectivity, let's hear these "aggressive" set-ups you've ran and tested on your car? I'm curious.

stretched tires (especially in the above pics
) to that extent would have terrible effects on handling. i dont wanna sacrifice that seeing as i track my car fairly often. the widest ill go is most likely (and almost limited to) 11, and a less aggressive offset. +1 on overzealous1's post
