stock axis mod 7s 20x10 and 20 x 8.5 fronts look ok 245/35/20, backs now are 275/30/20 and there's a big gap between fender and tire....want wider and to close gap....

These are the measurements of the sidewall of the tire with dif widths of tires with the same series tires "30". what is ur offset on the wheels?
275/30/20 = 82.5mm //// your current thickness
285/30/20 = 85.5mm //// wider tire and lil thicker sidewall
295/30/20 = 88.5mm //// wider&thicker but might rub dependingon offset

295/40/20 is way to thick/////118mm

Nasty size. Try 295/30/20. You might rub depending on the offset and how much you're lowered.

Trust me 40 profile on 20" tires will look nasty. It might even rub without any drop. Are you dropped at all?

The tire is 744 mm tall. That should be pretty wild!

that is a ridiculous size, lower the car if you want to fill wheel gap, that should give you a better idea of what wheel size you need, and save your wallet on wheel/rubber combo!

295/ 40 R20, are you kidding me? The Z is a sports car not a monster truck! W/e you do, do not get that size. It will look like crap. Also a 295/30 R20 in rear will keep almost exactly the same overall diameter of the stock wheel/tire combo. I am running 20X10.5 in rear +22 with a 295/30. I do not feel that a 275 width for a 10.5 inch rim is enough, but I am one who cannot stand stretched tires. I am lowered on Tanabe GF210's. I believe it is about 1 inch lowered or 1.2". It did rub! I rolled my fenders and now have about 1/2" clearance.

Here are a few pics to give you an idea... sorry if the pics are a lil big.

30 series is the best bet. I had BFG KDW2's 285/30/30 in the rears and they worked out well. Gripped and lasted a long time.

Sorry, I only posted the picture because i don't have many pics of wheel/tire/ suspension setup, because it is now winter here and we don't all have the warm weather of Houston. If RAYS hadn't taken 6 months to send my wheels i would have more time to take nice pics. I'll edit the above picture with the girlfriend instead of me, maybe that will make it all better.
