Default powder coat need help asap!!!

I'm getting the curb rash taken care of then I'm pretty much cluesless. I talked to a well known powder coating shop and they said that they don't feel comfortable doing 2 colors (black with a red lip) and that I should get it all powder coated black then take it to a pin striper and have them hand paint it red then re clear everything. Is this the best process? or are they BS'ing me on not being able to do 2 colors?

If they don't feel comfortable then that means they don't think they can do it to a level that would be acceptable to a customer. They have to do some pretty good masking to do it right. The process they suggested would probably be the easiest way to achieve the time attack color scheme.

WOW!!! That's a great price. I've done my research and got couple of quotes here in NY, $400 for all 4 wheels, and another guy, $150-$200/per wheel + the cost of paint!

I know I was pretty stoked only problem now is that there on the different sides of town.... I have to go 30 minutes to get the curb rash taken care of, then I have to pick them up and take it to powder coating 50 minutes the other way, THEN I have to find a paint shop that will pin stripe the lip then re clear everything!!!! So after everything is said and done I don't know how much it'll be

Pinstriping is the better option. Not sure if it's ok to powder coat over an existing coat of powder coat, but I am aware it's basic protocol to coat over bare metal. Just like silvernole12 pointed out, masking a strip of bare metal for the TA stripe will be meticulous and perhaps deemed unnecessary from the service provider.

He sent it to some guy who does chem stripping but after 2 hole days in a tank he still had problems stripping it. He said there was literally 1/16" of primer on it. Then he decided to sandblast the rest of really light.
