Default Wheel sizing - is this okay?

I've got a set of Nismo LMGT4s. I love them, but the other day I saw a G35 with a 295 tire in the rear and I immediately needed wider tires. I'm assuming his rims were a 10.5 rear. Is this also possible on the Z without any modification? I was looking underneath the car the other day and it doesn't seem like there's any room for it. Also, what's the widest you can go on the fronts without tire rub? Can I use 9.5s with 275 tires on the front? I'm selling my Nismo LMGT4s and buying new Nismo LMGT4s, but wider. Please help me out!

yeah even can use 295's on 9.5 inch rim... not in fron though of course.. i think 255 or 265 is widest front you can go.... ive even seen a 305 on a volk 9.5" wide rim and they fit on a stock g... my 295's were on a g coupe as well

If you put your rear 9.5s on the front and order 10.5 rears from Japan, I would go with 295/30 rear 255/35 front. I have heard that wider than 255 in the front makes steering response feel sluggish. If you stick with a 9.5 rear, do 255/35 front 285/35 rear

I would go no wider than 285 on a 9.5" wheel, that is already starting to pudge slightly and is the outer limit of manufacturer's recommend range

agreed 295 is too much and 305 should be unheard of.

I don't want to chance putting that wide of a tire on a 9.5 rim. I'll just go with a new set of 10.5s. But, 10.5 rims will fit on the rear, right? I'll just go with 265s on the front.

285 is the limit up front , right now i have 275 with no rubbing problems. There is no need to run narrow tires up front.
