Default 4,000$ Insurance =)

So i posted a couple weeks back, some douchebag stole my Volk GTS 19" rims.
Currently it's winter so im not complaining and i have my stocks on, but i just got my check back from the insurance company and they actually gave me more for them then i thought they would. Originally the rims/tires together cost me about 3300(nitto tires) 235/45 275/35.They gave me 4K back to purchase new ones so this is where it gets difficult to choose

I can either go with cheaper rims(Axis, Sevas) and pick up the VSII 2007 Carbon Fiber hood that's coming out soon, and a few other goodies with the leftover $.

OR

I can go for it all with the rims, Either Volks(GTS or GTV) in either gunmetal or black or PIAA(Super Rozza) Gunmetal or black with either Falkens or something for tires instead of Nitto.

Get wheels for sure. Everytime I sell my wheels I think of what I can do, i.e. built motor, twins, etc. but think about when the next time you are going to want to save $3500 just for wheels again. Likely not to happen. Just get yourself some nice wheels and save or the other petty things.

Don't forget to budget a few of those dollars for an alarm and some locking lug nuts this time. Can't hurt.

Not sure what company, my dad dealt with them, its under a business.
clark the rims weren't on my car when they were stolen, lol they were in storage and one of the employees broke in took them and took off somewhere idk..

but we filed the insurance claim, we sent in photos and everything to the company, they asked for proof of purchase which i didnt have but i had a bank statement which worked fine, the total i paid for everything: rims, tires, springs/shocks was 3500..i guess they felt i was entitled to a little more?lol so i made out =) im not complaining

Not sure in this situation what i want to do, i know i like the darker wheels better than light, but i'm also not sure which to get, those new 07 hoods are looking pretty nice,lol..

The GTS were pretty boring IMO, they were nice had a good lip but they were too simple to spend that much money on, i was thinking maybe Axis(yet shitty wheels) or maybe just switch to Volk GTVs..

You can get the hyperblack Super Rozzas for less than $2k, then slap on a set of tires for less than $1k, then have at least $1k left over, right?

Cheap out on wheels and go forced induction.

Or pull the "stolen" set of wheels out from underneath your bed and try to double your claim. J/k Good luck on your choice.

Lightbulb I...

realize you are probably inexperienced in this type of scenario but it appears that the principle of indemnity, for whatever reason(s), was violated in this instance.

Enjoy whatever you get but I would tend not to broadcast that you benefited in insurance terms from a loss. Just a heads up for the future.

I've given a customer more than they paid before. Its the cost of the replacement value of the wheels. So if they are more expensive you will get more. Now most companies if you have $4k is aftermarket require a special afm coverage. If you have more than $1k (which is normally included) than I STRONGLY suggest you look into.
And yes stolen wheels would be a comprehesive claim.

Risky Business and vnarang..i understand where your coming from, but in all honesty, it's not like i tried to scam into this or something...I have no idea how insurance works nor do i care, i think its rediculous how much i'm charged per year to cover myself from accidents and such, it's way too high and i have no violations whatsoever. It's not my problem the company gave me more than they were worth, if that happened to you, i doubt you'd call and say, oh here's 1,000$ back sorry for the inconvenience =) (no offense)

But anyways! it's not like i flaunt anything, i'm simply asking the next step, how much there is to spend, and if i should dump all the $ on rims or maybe invest it in something else such as a new hood or something else..

I would go with FI but like i said it's only 4,000.+ install + tuning + dyno + everything else is way too much hassle for me, this is a daily driven car, i don't want to mess around with FI(besides i don't think they have any for the 07 model yet)

I'm probably going to head with either Volk GTVs or PIAA SR's both black probably, they'll look nice with other accents..thnx for the help guys.

You will regret not using it to buy better wheels. Get a new hood later...
