Default Stock rims lose finish

I have an '07 base model with stock rims, after 25K miles the finish on the rims is becoming thin? Black undercoating? is showing through. I haven't done anything out of the ordinary with the rims, I wash them about every week and polish them with ordinary wax about once a month. It seems the finish on these rims should last longer than this? Has anyone else had this problem? I suppose I will have to contact the stealership to see if the warranty covers this. sounds like an argument brewing??

^^ HaHa

As David says, you need to post pictures (showing the problem) if you want any help.

I had the same problem... they seem to lose their finish pretty quickly... but I replaced my rims w/ CE28Ns

my guess , GUESS , stock wheels soap and water only

the wax might have a negative effect on the clearcoat

I wash mine with the regular car wash soap every time I was the car. I also put a coat of wax on the wheels twice a year. @20k miles and the finish is still good as new.

Also wanted to note that I've never used any type of wheel/brake dust cleaner.

I only used car soap. I think they just scratch easily. It might be a good time to save for some new wheels
