Default Track Rims....

What is the max size tire, width wise, that I can fit on the 8.5 inch rear wheel? Would 265/35/18 fit?

I sure hope so because I ordered that size for my car. I'll know tomorrow when I pick up the tires. Originally ordered 255/40/18 but they were back ordered so went with 265/35/18.

I ordered S03 Bridgestones in these sizes:
Front 235/40/YR18
Rear 265/35/YR18

Can you let us know how it goes with that set-up? I would like to get the same size T1-S's this summer, TIA.

it should fit, but ya know I bet a 275 would fit too... problem is that you start to get unwanted handling characteristics from the combo, 265 should be ok more or less tho, 255 would be better IMO tho.

start at 245 for 8.0, add 10mm for every half inch. 275 for 9.5, 295 for 10.5. all works along pretty good, but you can stretch that. by 10-20mm either way.

Thanks for the info Ares. I might have waited for the 255/40/18. Anyway I now have the 265/35/18 on the rear, and there certainly is plenty of room for the tire. I had worried about a harsher ride with the 35 profile compared with the 45 profile tires but I didn't notice that much difference.

I don't know about the handling yet. And probably I won't have any basis for comparison between the 265 and 255. Just driving around in the hills easily convinced me that these are better than stock tires. duh! .. The SO3 tires are so different from the stock tires.
