Default fender rolling

my friend had his rear fenders rolled to fit some 10 inch +12 offset rims in. They used this proffesional rolling tool that clamped onto the hub and wheeled back and forth.A heat gun was used to heat up the paint but the damn nissan paint cracked/chipped all along the inner lip and a small 1 inch piece of the outer lip.I cant figure out if this shop sucks or what.

I've rolled fenders on a few Zs and didn't crack the paint. You have to be patient.

I find it interesting that anyone would think you can severely bend any metal on a car and expect this to have no effect upon the paint. No matter how much you heat the paint (and you can certainly overdo this as well), the integrity is always damaged. Paint, unless it is latex , does not stretch. The next thing you do after rolling fenders is repainting/repairing.

…And, I know there are some members who will tell me this (repainting) is not necessary.

I honestly did this without cracking the paint, at all.

I did mine without cracking the paint. I'm sure it effected the paint, but it didn't chip off right then. And it hasn't yet. Not saying that it won't in the future.
