Hmmm which is the wear indicator bar?
Hey guys, I have BF Goodrich G-Force T/A KDW tires, and I had em off the car today looking at them. I thought I was in good shape since the wear bar didnt seem worn down, but now I realize there seem to be 2 different things that could be wear bars... a thick type and a thin type. I marked the thick in red and the thin in green... which ones are relevant?
Do I need new tires already? I only have maybe 5k on these.
Could it be my tires were underinflated? I have so much meat on the middle..
Let me know what you think.
Thanks,
Aaron

I have KDW's on my wifes car. I cant really remember but I think I saw wear indicators more towards the middle of the tire. It's a slight hump about a quarter inch wide. I might be wrong but since I'm not at the house I cant really verify for you.

The wear bar should be repeated around the tire in several locations, usually not in one spot.
Thanks that would be great if you check the tire. So its not a straight bar across the whole width? Hmm well both these thick and thin type wearbars are all over the place...
In your picture your wear indicator is on the bottom left. Go 5 o'clock down to the right of the green circle to the horizontal bar in the main groove. If you have a lot of tread left in the middle but both sides are worn evenly then you may be under inflated. Hard to tell from your pics but those dont look like 5k tires.

Here ya go, these are the wear bars.

Oh yeah, did your tires wear on the outside of the tire. If so then you probably had underinflated tires. If not it was probably something else.
