it is WAY lighter. I wouldn't do it... if you want, if I get mine powdercoated, if you send me yours I can get them all done at the same time. I know a pretty good powdercoater.
or I might just go black

^so sexy.
so an updated picture or two
I got my coilovers on, not corner balanced yet... gotta let them settle. I spent the day Sunday installing them and road testing them to make sure I didn't mess anything up
I am in love with this setup... greaat handling ROCKS!
I am going to do a install/review of these coilovers, as I said I would to Scott. just takes time to write

setting up the fronts to be even:

don't need this anymore

need a plank to get off the lift

I am in love!! SO LOW

retorque the lugs now that the wheels are down:

here we are: the car was even left to right on both axles!! first try!!!
Rob looks scared!

some left and right circles to make sure nothing moves that shouldn't

after my breakin test drive. last pic

just needs some front camber !

I found a set of blue lugs I had that matched pretty well also.

and for not having an alignment yet, it sits pretty darn good. I put camber arms in the rear, but I forgot to ask anyone to bring a dremel so I couldn't do the toe bolts.
I have diff bushings coming in anyway, so I'll probably do it all then.
and not to discount the help I got: this would not have been possible without the help of my fellow club member Rob (benchtt), his help was immensly helpful, and in return I made him late for dinner but took him for the shakedown drive. Sean (helldorado) snapped the pics. and Ray was... well, he was blargh.

and all on a 17 inch front
thanks!
the front rubs a little so I will probably have to raise it, and my Nismo V2 front will never fit this low...
I got a set of Stance AL+ coilovers spec'd by Scott@Relentless Autosports. We had been talking for a long time about suspension setups and he was very helpful. I was going to order the GR+ from a vendor here, but he was able to get me the AL+ that they could not so I did that instead. he also specified valving and a different rear spring rates than the normal kit, so it's sort of like 'his spec'
12k front/6k rear. He was a great help in figuring out what I wanted and his experience in testing setups was the key IMO. they feel great and are not stiff at all tbqh. I was expecting a harsher ride.
I set the coilovers to:
7 clicks from softest for the rear
9 clicks from softest for the fronts
and it's pretty good. I might raise the rears to 8, but I don't want to sacrifice squat traction when launching. that is the first thing I noticed with the coilovers is the lack of squat when accelerating... very odd to just feel the car pull with no movement. but now I am getting used to the ride and can feel the movement. cornering was nasty!! just grip/rotate... where my old setup (prokit springs) would push and have a understeer/oversteer feel and so much movement and bodyroll. I kept the stock sways and at this point don't plan on upgrading them.

thanks!

DUDE, so HOT! I love it! I'm definitely going to have to get some blue lugs, that looks great! What coilovers are those?
Mine should be going on this weekend, my other car got stolen last night so I don't have much of a choice!

it really is a world of difference from a spring setup, places that were harsh with springs are smooth and stable with these, even with the decreased stroke compared to the stock dampener, just look at the difference in them. when the car is in the air it's even funnier cause there is so little gap, even when the car is raised... and stock you could put a baby or two in the wheel well!:

I don't have enough miles to make a final statement on them, but so far, so great!
thanks. the rear is about 1 inch higher than the front, so I am going to raise the front probably 1/4 to start, and lower the rear by the same 1/4 so the rear will be lower, front higher and the difference in height will only be 1/2 inch.
but I will also be getting corner balanced so I will talk to them about this before deciding. I need to read up on what a good height front to rear setting is. I know the rear tire is slightly taller than the front, on purpose so that will affect how hight the car is from the start.

in the front... yeah
it rubs over decent sized potholes, but in normal driving I have not rubbed yet. the car does not wallow much when rebounding so that tendancy for the car to use it's weight to slam into the ground is not as bad as stock
