kdw2 don't come in a 275/40 for the rear.

Anyone? Will this fit ok? without rolling the lips? and will it look normal? someone said the 285 on that setup would make it look like a truck.

285/40 is going to rub; especially if you're lowered. I have the 275/40's and they rub. I think the tires I have now are close to the 'truck' look, which is why I bought the 35 series to put on next.

if you want to go with 285 i will say 35 profile, you might have to roll your fender( ifyou lowerd)

Since the tires wear differently from front to back, does anyone just change two at a time? And if you did change just 2 at a time, would changing from 45 series to 40 series screw with VDC -- as long as you ended up with the correct proportions (such as going from 245/45/18 to 275/40/18 rear)? Obviously, this might look strange, but would it affect VDC?

That sucks, I don't want to go 285 but the damn KDW2 which I really want to go with only come in 275/35 285/30 or 285/40, So No KDW2 in 275/40 or 285/35 :|

255/35 275/35 and little drop. = perfect.

i heard KDW is little high sidewall than other brand.

Sometimes you gotta give up brand of tire for perfect size...

im gunna be running 255/35 285/35 with 18X9 and 18X10 xd9's.. ill take pics once there on.. im just not a fan of running 285/40's out back cause it just makes that wheel look way too small.

Please do as I just got my Rims and tires in today and most likely mounting them tomorrow. I ended up getting the 255/35/18 front and 275/35/18 rears

^^ Very nice!… great choices for offset, tire size, and drop… about the best setup I’ve seen here for 18”s (which I prefer for a number of reasons).

OK so i have factory 07 wheels which are 8/8.5

will i be fine with 255/35/18 - 275/35/18 or is that too big for the wheels. and i say 35 instead of 40 because all the tires i look at only have 275/35 not 275/40

Thats what i went with and I think after all of that i would go with a 285 as I can't see how it would rub even with a 1" drop. I'll post up pics of my rims/tires tomorrow.

BTW did you get your wheels refinished local or by work usa? Wondering how they will look as I thought about going satin or gloss black with a polished lip on my XD9 at some point.

OEM wheels are only 8" wide IIRC so

per http://www.1010tires.com/tiresizecalculator.asp

a 245 is for an 8-9.5" wide rim, where as a 255 is for 8.5-10" and a 275 is for 9-11" rims.

That being the case 245 is about as wide as I would go on oem rims. (if they are all in fact 8" wide)

the correct tire size is 245/40 and 275/40

it doesn't look that goofy and is a fairly common 30mm stagger. The car will push (understeer) a tad during low speed high angle corner entry. If you wanted true handling you would get a square setup....but for street, 245 and 275 will do just fine.
