Default Is there a proper way to store wheels?

The air is released from the tires...but is there a proper way they should be stored? Is there any harm with stacking the rims on top of each other?

Thanks.

They should be cleaned and a layer of wax should be applied to the surface. The tires should actually have air in them, and stacked horizontally. The preferable location would be dark, cool and dry. I also like to apply a protectant to the tires such as aerospace 303 to prevent drying out.

I try not to stack em, but store laying horizontally in a dark dry area if possible. If you have to stack them I place large pieces of cardboard between each wheel tire combo...just in case to prevent scratches.
