Default TPS warning light.

Hey guys, i recently got a flat tire repaired by a local shop. I got it back today and the TPS warning light was still on even though it CLEARLY displayed a PSI reading of 31 on the repaired tire.

The shop is only two blocks away from my house so the car wasn't driven very far. Perhaps the TPS light didn't get a chance to reset itself? I let the car idle for about 5 minutes and turned it off and on again however the light stayed illuminated.

The reason i'm worried though, is because upon further inspection i did notice some sticky resedue on the sidewall of my tire. Would a shop really use the "inject tire fixing substance" method of fixing tires? I know that this stuff is supposed to kill my TPS, however it seems to be functioning fine, just the warning light is on. Anyone with any sort of experience with this?

How about putting a couple of more pounds of air in the tire.

I'd sure hope they don't use that injected crud. What you're seeing might be bead sealant.
Did you warn them that your wheels had sensors? It'd be pretty easy to muck one of those up if they didn't pay attention.

I didn't warn them, obviously I should have. I'll put a couple more lbs of pressure in tomorrow, and bead sealant sounds about right. When i touched it, it didn't feel like the injected crud that i've used (although my only experience with it has been with bikes) thanks for the ideas and quick responses. I also read in the manual something about the sensors not working properly until above 25mph, which i did not reach on the way home.
