Why are wheels on Z so prone to curb damage?

as for those that curb them, i do not think it is Z specific or that the Z suffers more than any other car on the road. yeah we see it alot here on the boards but go to any other site and see they have curbing issues as well. it is just another one of those hazards that a driver faces. even the most careful person can end up with a scratch. so scratched wheels is not determined by the car, but how the car was driven.
stretched tires(personally i think it looks ugly and horrible, especially when it's so blatenly stretched that you can see the entire lip section of the wheel) and people running "aggressive" offsets. That and people just not being careful.
I've had my stock 07 rims for over a year now and have yet to curb one.

Plenty!
Look at the second post:
work meister s1
19x9.5 +10 225/35/19 front
19x11 +17 245/35/19 rear
pulled rear fenders...for something more aggressive in the future
(undecided at the moment)
flame if you must
He's asking for new wheels!
Some people are running 11.0 inch wide tires in the rear, with 275

I curbed my new (stock) tires within the first 3 weeks pulling up to an ATM. Honestly I just wasn't used to the width of the car. 6 years in a GTI and 11 before that in a Civic... At least thats what I tell myself.

I curbed one on my own in a drive thru, trying to get closer to the window. Why there would be a curb underneathe a drive thru window that sticks out so far is beyond me. Needless to say I was so effing pissed when I did that. At least they weren't Volks or anything

You can give someone driving lessons every day for a month and there is still the possibilty of hitting a curb.
I know, I know...you've NEVER hit a curb. Kudos to you!
