Default rear spacers only

A "car guy" (notice the quotes, meant to emphasize sarcasm) told me that I should get rid of the fender gap on my car and since the gap in the rear is more profound on the z then the front, I should only get 20mm rear spacers.
I told him that it would greatly increase oversteer and he claims it will have no effect what-so-ever.
I just wanted to get your input on this issue and help solve a debate!

Thanks in advance

Little to no steering change- if your car is on stocks and you're going to do back, do front also. Either both or none. Having fender gap up front only will look pretty goofy, especially with a 20-25mm spacer.

Perhaps you are correct, Kimosabe.
I appreciate all the comments.
However, this is not about looks, rather an effect in performance.
Keep up the comments!

I had 20mm on the rear and none up front for a few months, on stocks. Never noticed an ounce of difference. I have the 20mm on the front now and 25mm on the rear.

If you are looking for a performance increase, take the money and put it towards something else. The spacers make no noticeable impact on handling. Save up for some better suspension components.

I agree with you 100%. However, I like the stock look and the performance of the car, is good enough for my use.
Me and this guy just got into a debate about effect of only rear spacers on the handling of the car (I believe I stated performance in my initial post, sorry).

Moving the wheels will effect handling but who cares. Its about looks not handling. Go 30 mm.

Nah, I just had them on the rears. I was gonna get the some for the fronts, but ended up getting after market wheels.

Having massively wider rears that are pushed out in comparasion to the fronts will indeed cause oversteer, but the effect caused by spacers would be so minimal that you would never notice the difference. You understand the theory correctly, just not its reach of effect.

chicagokid, a few of the vendors sell them in the Marketplace section, and used sets come up for sale often in the Private Classifieds. I would recommend Project Kics or Eibach because they don't require you to replace your stock studs.

I'm in Creve Coeur by the way, probably not very far from you.

I bought some generic ones off ebay. They worked fine. I never had a problem with them. Put about 5k on em.

I'd recommend going with a reputable brand and staying away from ebay spacers. These are things that you don't want failing on you on the highway.

Although I never had a problem with mine, I agree 100%. Looking back now, I don't know why I got those. I guess that's why I took em off in such a hurry. The extra $40-$50 is well worth the peace of mind you get from going with a reputable brand like Project Kics or Ichiba.
