Default Questions about running 275/40/18 on all corners??

I have searched through many pages for specific info on running 275/40/18 on all 4 corners. My car is a 05 base model with stock suspension. The rims i plan to use for this are Rota Torque 18/9.5/20. I want to use the 275s because i want to have a full looking wheel well. I had first considered 255s or 265s, but the 275 seems ideal in size and cost, but i have concerns about it rubbing. I have seen some people say it will work and some say that it wont. I would like to get some feedback from people who run these on all four corners with stock suspension. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated.
According to my tire calculator there is only .31 difference between the 265/40/18 and the 275/40/18, hard to believe this little bit could cause a problem. I have heard of people running 265 all round, but not the 275.

Thanks
Jeff W

I can't find the link , but it can be done. My suggestion is running 275/40 rear with a 275/35 front. But thats just me.

Default The Goal

Well, the goal was to have a completely rotateable setup, to get the most out of my tires, and to keep the wheel wells full, but unless i can get a better feeling about running the 275s i may have to go with the 255s and hope that i can get some lowering springs sometime soon to do away with the fender gap. The 265s would be ok, except for the fact i have had a hard time finding tires in this size, or they tend to be alot more expensive than
255s or 275s.

Same width all around would make create an over steering problem for me. But the square set-up may be preferred by other drivers.

Just get some lowering springs and run 275/35 all around. Springs are cheap, the 40 series is just too much for me. But if you want I don't see why that wouldn't work.

+1, best square setup IMO. rotation is going to do you any good anyways since your major issue will be inner tire wear which rotation doesn't help with, especially if the tires are directional

I don't have the 18" setup but I do have the 275/40 on all four corners with my 17" autocross setup. The 275/40 tires are mounted on 17x9 rims (+35mm offset). And I'm lowered over 2". No issues at all, and no rubbing. I have spacers on both front/rear to flush the tires with the fender. Rear fenders are rolled and I have -2.0 camber on all four corners. Neutral handling, along with the added bonus of being able to rotate tires (as long as your tires are not directional).

Well, the goal was to be able to rotate my tires front to rear and side to side, i have ever found a non directional tire for that purpose in 275/40. My tires so far on this car have seemed to wear pretty even across the tread, although i am using Nitto Neo Gens right now, so those are meant to do well on the inner shoulder. It seems though that i cant seem to find any solid info on wether or not i would have a problem, so i probably will end up going with 255/40/18 all corners, 265 would be nice , but the tire costs for 265 seem to be quite a bit more, and i am on a limited budget.
