and OP, yes the jack points are in the owner's manual. it is in the "in case of emergency" section

You guys are quick to make assumptions. You don't know me at all yet you assume I can't change a tire. I can change a tire, install car audio, basic mods like intake, catbacks, rims, springs, coilovers, etc.. I've had other cars before and they've always been clearly marked. Not sure why my z isn't. Thats all I was trying to say. In anycase, i got the wheels on, i was just annoyed that it bent a bit.

Anyway, don't mean to insult anyone by my posts.

I don't blame you, I came across this problem too about a year ago when I was installing my suspension. I ended up figuiring it out after five minutes of inspecting the underbody of the car. Great diagram, I'm glad I was able to figure it out without any damage to my car.

honestly....that POS jack that comes with the Z scares the sh*t out of me. I dont know how to safely lift the car on it either...If I ended up getting a flat I would just hang and call AAA.

All I have ever used is this...and I wouldnt dare put that into my Z..Props the OP for asking a question with certainty of flammage.

I wouldnt feel too bad, when i didnt know much about my 1st car i made a post that basically said "im trying to change the tire, but when i jack it up to take the wheel off, the tire keeps spinning backwards, even though its in park! i think somethings broken?" lol

lol....looking back its pretty funny......ok...not really, but theres only one way to learn i guess.

i went to a tire shop for to patch my tire which was losing air very very slowly.. then the guy (certainly looked like he was working under the table) went to jack my car up.. he didn't know where to line up the jack.. i have my veilside sideskirt wings he decided to go in the area where the wings bolts up to.. long story short.. my rear left wing is not even touching the lower panel..and is loose.. and i'm just to lazy to take it off.. lol..

i should print out the diagram for that dude so the next 350z owner won't experience this. lol

Dont feel bad. I have had MANY cars. But I looked in the manual just to see if there was any Extra places. These side spots SUCK! I had rubber over my jacks and figured the rear end would be fine. Then, didnt really know where up front spot was at.....Its all learning.

I think it's pretty common for all modern cars to have these reinforced areas on the side frame rails for using the OEM scissor type jack.

I also have Veilside side wings. The mounting flange for the rear pieces sit above the factory side rail jacking locations, so the jack will crack the mounting flange when the car's weight is applied to it. The way I got around this was to have a little piece of square key stock (steel) welded into the groove in the scissor jack, so that the jack doesn't slip completely over the rail and therefore does not contact the underwing mounting flange. The downside is that all of the load is taken on the edge of the side rail, which causes it to deflect bit by bit every time I have to jack up the rear. I'm actually thinking of buying a floor jack so I can jack from the rear differential to avoid this problem in the future.
