Default how do i jack my car up?

So i got a new set of rims today and decided to install them. When i went under the car to see where the jack points are i didn't see any. So i just picked a spot that looked strong enough and used that. After I installed the first wheel and lowered the car, i noticed that the piece of metal that it pushed up on was bent. Although no one will ever see it, it does bother me quite a bit. I have a 2005. Is it like this for everyone, meaning, its not clear where you should be jacking the car up from? Thanks.

you could also type "jack points" into "search" but you might be dissuaded by the search function being hidden by an ad. Fear not...someone will redirect you....(give me a second)

Here's every thread imaginable.

There are 2 jack points for the car. One under the engine, and the other is the rear differential housing. There are a few other safe places where the sub frames meet the unibody, but that's for later Danielson! Don't forget to use safety stands. Locations in photo.

the owners manual should have the points but i mean when worse comes to worse the best is under the motor for the front and the rear diff housing for the rear

true, but when it comes to basic car knowledge, some things should not be asked.

and OP, yes the jack points are in the owner's manual. it is in the "in case of emergency" section

Sure.. the interwebs is great if you want to find out specifics about a product like intakes, or turbos, etc or reader opinions... but come on. how to change a tire is one of the most fundamental car skills a driver should know, probably second only to "how to turn the car on."

I'm sorry if the OP can't read the owner's manual instructions, or look at the side of the stock accordion jack to read the sticker on how to operate the device.

as far as the bent in uniframe, nothing you can really do about other than go to the body shop and get it repaired by having it pulled back..

You might need to keep a separate jack in the car. The oem's are pretty flimsy.

I've changed many tires before. What I said was that the jack points on my z weren't clearly marked. If you have nothing useful to say then don't say anything at all.
