The fronts are 35 profile... not much meat but they work.

I switched to 45 profile in the front because i had a set laying around... im selling them and going back to 35, the car felt better.

Hope that helps

Im normally not one to say search but 35 profile is what 99.99% of us run on after market rims on the Z on both 18's and 19's. Some even run a 30.

255/35/18 is not a correct size if you want your speedo to remain the same and your odometer to log actual miles you drove. 255/35/18 is smaller in radius / diamater versus the OEM 225/45/18. 255/35/18 is basically the equivalent of a 225/40/18 tire in diameter.

245/35-255/35/ are suited for 19s, as well as 265- 275/35/19. these are exactly the same overall diameter/radius as the OEM 245/40/18s and 245/45/18, +/- <1%

for 18s, if you want to stick with stock tire sizes to keep speedometer and actual miles logged accurate, i'd run 245/40/18 or 265/35/18 if applicable in the front. In the rear i'd have 265/40/18 or 275/40/18. Get proper sized tires per rim size please

Well like itsjiggajames said, running 245/35 & 275/35 is intended for 19" and speedometer & odometer will be of by almost 5%, that's why I kind of doubted that anyone runs this size, but im very tempted to go for this setup... I personally hate the meaty look, and I dont want to go 19" for many reasons which I will not take time to state.

Just go with proper sizes, besides the smaller tires look stupid in our wheel wells, they just don't fill them well or match the arches.

on the flip side i think the taller sidewalls look stupid. they look like they belong on an suv. if you are concerned about fender gap then lower it. the worst mod(appearance wise) i have done to my car was put a 275/40/18 on the rear. it looked like i was ready to go muddin--wooooohoooo git 'r dun buddy.

265/35/18 in front 275/35/18 in the back
all on an 18x9.5 +20 lowered 1.25"

pics as requested:

if you can tell in this pic i am running a 255/40/18 all around--a very wide running 255 mind you.

275/40 has the same sidewall as the stock 245/40, they don't look like mud tires. If your so concerned about about having the lover profile, just go 19's. Oh ya if you lower it , it still looks like you have the wrong sized tires to fit the fender arches. Just like the crap you would find in a lowrider mag.

245/35/18 front and 275/35/18 rear. I've driven next to a stock Z, 330i, IS350 and Tundra and checked speeds.....result = identical speeds and miles. Exactly 268 miles from my house in McAllen to my Apt. in San Antonio in my Z and have gotten 268 in my dads Tundra. If you want i can get you some better pics later this week, oh and please excuse cheap plate holder (zip-ties)

Thats odd ,when i run my track tires with have the same height as your tires 255/40 and 275/40 both in 17's my speedo and odo. is off. Try checking your speed off GPS, you will see a difference.

If you want to lower you car a lot and have to hassle with scraping then get the 35 because to make a 35 series look good on a 18" wheel you got to lower it at least 2". 40 series tire ftw on 18 inch wheel and imo again it looks 100% more aggressive. also the ride in much better with a 40. i know because i just came from 19" 35 series tire and it was extremely rough.

car looks great, but believe what you want but your speedo is off compared to your stock size. If you are comparing it at low speeds you won't really find a difference because it is a ratio / percentage.. go at speeds of 100+ and the difference becomes greater. 5% at 20mph = 1mph.. 5% at 100mph = 5mph.. get it? So if your cruising at 50mph, its only 2.5mph difference.. hard to spot on a speedo.. but heres the biggest problem

Actual MILES logged.. if you run this setup for 10,000 miles, you are logging 500 extra miles

At 100,000 Miles, an extra 5% is an extra 5000 miles logged...

now keep in mind stock speedos already ready slightly quicker also..

Stick with stock sizes for accuracy.. unless you don't care. I ran smaller tires on my e46 and I didn't really mind.. but this time around I want to do it right
