305's on all 4 corners

Is there any way to run 305/30-18's on all four corners? I know they'll fit out back but would re-rolling the front fenders and flaring them out a bit, running 1.8-2 degrees of negative camber and maybe removing/modifying the fender liners make enough room to run a setup like that? Wanting to stick with V710's and i'd like to go a little wider than 285's out back but I want to keep a square setup as well  I figured id try to get it around a +22-24 offset to clear the upper control arm but that would have it rubbing the hell out of the quarter panel. anyway to kind of pull/flare out the fender without damaging the paint?

Thanks for any input/experience.

edit: didnt read all the way through it.

expensive ass setup though

:icon8: are you aware of what i'm talking about fully?

305 mm R-compound tires, with about 2 degrees of camber, no toe, and +7 degrees of caster = crappy handling how?

+1 Istan. Are there any options for aftermarket control arms (the arm that connects the A-arm to the hub)? If I could find one that would give me another 15-20mm of room to the inward I'm pretty sure 305's would work (with a much less aggressive offset, like a +38).

Hmm. Waiting to hear from others.

Wow. How many different wheels and tires have you had on the car? If I have any wheel and tire questions maybe I should be asking you.

Eh only a couple. just trying to figure out if I can stick with V710's and run 305's or if i'm gonna have to move over to A6's and run 295/30's (and deal with buying new race tires after 3/4 of a season). I would go link up all your posts but i'd probably die of old age before completing such a feat :] Never did get those RPF1's...kinda glad. Tirerack ended up lying, they didnt have the 10.5's available at all. now i'm on le' nismos non staggered.

Have you ever run 285/30 all around to know how it handles? A friend of mine runs 18x10.5 +15 with 285/30 and seems to be a very strong setup.

ke0ki2k Jul 29, 2008 08:52 AM

That will probably be what I go for in reality, the A6's just dont last long enough with the way I drive and 285's are the only other option in V710's..another couple inches of contact patch up front with the 305's would be nice to have if its possible though.

Nice ride for sale btw dustin...you should definately trade that guy with the FD chassis RX7 plus a couple grand for apex seals that are destined to blow lol 0_0

^ thanks for the intro dustin lol..

I run the 285 v710 front and rear and have great success with it. If you're STUCK on wanting to run a 305 (probably just for the fact that it is a '3'05 and not a '2'85) then yes they will fit, however, probably not with the minimal camber you're wanting to run. I run 10.5 +15 front and rear and could put a 305 out back all day. In teh front, I have about -3.2* camber and could fit a 305 up there as well. However, with the vast difference in camber, i dont think a 305 would fit wihtout hitting the fender, forcing you to go to a higher offset wheel. I dont have TOO much room to go with a much higher offset in the front, so I'd be weary of hitting the suspension components.

The difference between a 305 and a 285 is 20mm of section width. So assuming they're not bulging off the wheel, you're looking at less than an inch difference in contact patch up front.

running -3.2 degrees camber up front?! you running B-stock? It probably is mostly a psychological thing, a couple friends that run ASP have 315's all the way around and I want that :icon38: lol I figure running 305's will rub the hell out of suspension components though.

specs say the 305 has a section width about 9/10ths of an inch wider than the 285's. Would running 305 rear/285 front re-induce understeer? I know the square setup i'm running now is really neutral and i'd like to keep that :/

Do you have pictures of your setup? I'm leaning towards this RPF1 square setup and glad to know someone else had the same idea.

JETPILOT Nov 24, 2008 10:21 AM

My setup is a 275/35/18 front and a 305/35/18 rear. I stick with OEM diameters. My car is lowered 2". I have 9" +22 up front and a 10" +35 in the back. I run -3.0 camber in the front and -2.0 camber in the rear.

The rears are fine but they barely clear the fender which is rolled flat. The fronts rub a little on the fender.

But more importantly my car handles completely neutral. I wouldn't change a thing about my cars balance.

I run Proxes R888 tires.

What width wheel are you using?

I have 315/30/18 A6's up front on 18x11 +0 offset miesters. Had to pull the fender out pretty far and trim the fender bracket on the front but they fit.

:bowrofl: Yeah, I want to see some pictures of your setup. What size are your rear tires?
