Default 18 x 8.5 all with +15 offset

Hey all,

I came across some wheels I like, but I'm not sure if the size is right for a Z... But, from what I have been reading, it seems they would fit on a 350Z.

They are Axis Reverb 18 x 8.5 all around with a +15 offset.

1) Would this work for a Z?

"puts on flame retardant parka"

2) Would this look decent on a Z?

I know they aren't Volks, but I like them.

Discuss.

Don't see why it wouldn't work. They would probably look okay but I think 8.5 is too small for rear tires. Better have some really good rubber on the back or really enjoy drifting.

Oh and Volks suck ***, they're trash... don't even bother wasting your money.

Heh... J/K... had to do it. Just to **** off the Volk guys off! But I really love you guys! Sort of... :P

For OEM replacent and running OEM tire size they should be just fine. Other than that , pick some different wheels.

I see, I kind of figured the back tire wouldn't be wide enough. I didn't know how much of a difference it makes having 8.5" wide rears as opposed to 9.5" wide rears.

Sucks.. I was going to get a real good price on these, and they look good.

It's no less wide than the OEM 18s [8" front, 8.5" rear], and they have a better offset, so I don't see any problem with them.

Similar question for 18x9.5 +12, even more aggressive say works. Shouldn't be a problem for the setup you want.

you buying it from a store?
ask if they have a wider rear if possible.

http://www.axiswheels.com/wheels.php?id=reverb

goes all the way to 10.5.

make sure you get the smaller tires tho..

or you might look like this:

If I were to buy these, I'd try to make my Z look similar to the brey one above.

The reason why I'm considering this fitment is because when I bought my car used it came with some ugly 20" chrome wheels. I'd prefer to take the wheels down to a similar stock fitment...

I'm still not sure what size tires I would put on these rims, though. Anyone have some advice?

18x8.5 +15 with close to stock sized tires should look and handle great.

i like to use this website when determining what tire size to buy
http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

I would suggest 40 series on an 18" wheel, and then lower it some.
It should look good. are you going 8.5 all around for sure then?
One tire size I would avoid on an 18" wheel is 275/40/18. They look like monster truck tires to me haha. especially if you have 8.5" wide wheels.

I would think 245/40/18 would be okay all around on those size wheels.
I run that size on my 9.5 and its stretched slightly but doesnt look anything close to that black Z.

(another note, sometimes the serious guys with 18s even run 35 series tires, but it messes with your speedo slightly more, but looks better when your lowered alot)

Thanks so much Concave. This is exactly what I was needing!

And yes, I'm going 8.5" all the way around. I didn't plan to do this.. but I'm getting such a good price on these I can't afford to pass it up.

Do you think 245/18 in the front and 265/18 in the back would look ok? Or should I stick with having the same size tires all around?

I found this thread to be very useful when searching for what size tires I really needed.

https://my350z.com/forum/wheels-tire...ml#post6101240

Its alot to go through but you really start seeing how different sizes actually look. I cannot really suggest anything for an 8.5 because I like the stretched tire look, so I dont want to suggest something too small for your liking.

(look at the blue Z on page 15, his fronts are 8.5)

Understandable, I've been looking through that thread some already. I'll go back through and observe the tire sizes.

I'd think it would be fine. Have 255/40/18 on my 8.5" rears and it fits great, 265 might just have a tiny bulge.
