durabliity is really good actually if you do all the steps. I've been trying to think of a way to do it to my 06 rims to hold me over until i get some after market ones. My brother did his is 300 and they havent chiped at all. I think he got some acid like cleaner, then sanded the rim with fine sand paper, then some primer and sanded that then used black brake caliper paint. Looks really good and different than stock.

350Z GTS are you thinking of acetone?

OP, I think it looks cool and if you do it yourself then it's even cooler. Bottom line is if you like it on your car then go for it.
