Default Guess What....TPMs Question

Ok I read the FAQ and found this regarding a BASE Z and TPMS Sensors..

Q: I bought a base model Z. Can I buy sensors or wheels from another model and put them on my car?
A: Yes you can but they won't show the pressure on the multi-function display (triple-meter) or warn you when the pressure is too low. Your car doesn't have the antenna to pick up the signals from the sensors and your computer isn't setup to display them.

My question, I have an 06 Base Z. I purchased TPMS sensors from an 03-05 and want to know if I have the dealer Re-Program my sensors, will they work with my multi display? Right now, I have the sensors installed and I am gettin the tire pressure light on my dash, and the multi display does not read the preassure.

Prior to 07, no base model cars support TPMS. You don't have the electronics in the car to handle it, no matter whether you have the sensors in the wheels or not.

Which makes me wonder how the hell it worked before I changed out my wheels. Before the new wheels, I could view the tire pressure of each wheel. Also, why would it display a tire pressure light if I did not have the electronics to begin with.

Are you sure you have a Base model? What size wheels did it come with?

I have a 06 base and I have TPMS on my Z. The display shows PSI for each tire and when the PSI goes too low the light comes on. I think on 07+ you dont get the PSI reading, only the light if the PSI goes too low.
