Default Help!

What did all you guys do to stop the your tires from rubbing?? Just installed 285/35/19 nitto invos on my GT ray wheels w/ a 15mm spacer an I have major rubbage. My Z's slammed but the fenders are rolled. Any ideas?? I'd like to keep my spacers but will get rid of em if need be.

I'd try a smaller spacer or a smaller tire.

Default need help with fitting work meisters on =(

hi guys,

i've got some 18x10 and 18x12 3pc work meisters.
the rear ones have 265 35 18s on them but the front ones currently have no tyres fitted on,
i'm running on stock 18" wheels at the moment.

I want to put those work meisters on but can anyone give me some technical advice of what needs to be done to be able to run it,

I know i need front camber arms, any recommended brands? but what sizes wheels should i use for the fronts? and what else do i need to do to be able to run on them.

My 350z is a track version with brembo brakes (needs 10mm spacers to clear brembos for 18x10)

p/s i have tried fitting them on and the fronts are sticking out fender/guard by 1.5-2cms roughly and the rears by 2-2.5cms roughly

All of your inputs are greatly appreciated!

Do you know the offsets? If you need a 10mm spacer for the front to clear the Brembos, it sounds like the offset is actually pretty high, which is a good thing for the 10" wheel. Could you run a smaller spacer? I ask because a 10" wheel can fit in the front pretty easily, even with clearing a big brake kit in the front.

When you did the test fit, did the wheels have tires on them, or did you just slap them on there while the car was jacked up and take a look? The wheels will tuck in quite a bit once a tire is mounted and the car is dropped off of the jack. The fronts should fit if the specs you've divulged are correct.

As for the rear, hard to say without knowing the offset, but a 12" wheel is pretty big to jam back there. Did you use a spacer back there as well? If they do have tires on them, mount them on the car and take some pictures. Also look for the wheel offsets.

hey man,

thanks for your reply.

i was told that the offet for the 18x10 was 0p and the 18x12 was 5p,
the fronts sticker was peeled off the wheel so i couldnt find out exactly but the stickers on the rears were still there.

no. i tried a 5mm spacer but it wouldnt clear.

when i did the test fit , i just put the wheels on , without tyres ( this is for front) just to see if it cleared the brembos or not. p/s i need help with what tyre size to go for the fronts too.

the rears offset is 5p, and it cleared the brembo's easy. yes the rear wheels had tires on them, they could fit just only thing is sticking out 2-2.5 mm.

here are the pics

19x11 +20 with a 295/30/19 and a 19x8.5 +32 with a 255/35/19.... Stock suspension.... Fenders not rolled...

Can / Does it work? (spacer for front probably)....

Just looked through every page and it seems like it would work but I think everyone had their fenders rolled. I'm stuck in the middle of Missouri with no decent shops.

Any plan to lower it?

The outside of the 19x11 +20 wheel is at the same location as the outside of a 19x10.5 +14 wheel, which I know will rub with a 285/35/19 tire without a fender roll since it rubs slightly in the current 19x10.5 +23 configuration. We are talking about 8mm, .8cm, or 0.3". The wheels I'm referring to (on my wife's Z) don't "poke" out, they are simply flush with the unrolled part of the fender. The fender lip width is about 19mm, so your wheel (8mm more out) will seemingly sit right under the middle of the bent-under portion of the fender. I think that will look fine, and it won't rub at stock height. But once/if you lower it, you'll need to add in some camber or roll that baby to gain some of those 19mms to keep it from rubbing more.

Your proposed tire may be a little wider (a 285 in one brand is not necessarily 10mm more narrow than a 295 in another brand), but your 30-series tire is certainly shorter than our 35 series tire (your tire is almost 1" shorter), so that will all help to keep it from rubbing in any of the above-described conditions.

The 255/35 tire, however, is slightly taller than the proposed 295/30 rear, which may cause VDC interference.

Thank you!!

I do plan on lowering on some coils in the next few months, but hopefully I can find someone to roll the fenders by then.

I could also get the 19x11 wheel in a little higher offset if I wanted to... would probably help no?

And as far as the tires being taller... the 255/35 and 295/30 were the closest match I could come up with in one of the calculators I was messing with. (.06" taller I think)

Would you have a better suggestion? The thing is I am stuck with a 8.5" front wheel which I'm fine with but would like to find the optimal tire to run to keep my stance in check.

I'd recommend running a 305/30 in the rear. I have 255/35-19 on the fronts and 305/30-19 on the rears with an 11" wide wheel. With my tires (Bridgestone RE050A) the diameters are 26.0" front and 26.3" rear.

What is your suspension setup? I take it you don't have any VDC issues?

I wouldn't mind running a 305 as long as it doesn't make fitting it even harder.

Edit - I'm pretty sure I am going with the Hankook v12's for tires, got on their website and a 255/35 and 295/30 are both 26.0. Should be a nice match right? The 305 is 26.3 which still wouldn't be bad I think the stock setup is a tad bigger in the rear also.

I ran that setup (19 x 9.5" +23 front, 19 x 11" +35 rear) on stock suspension/stock ride height on the street and some HPDE track days before I began a full build project on my G. My rear fenders were rolled and very slightly pulled. I had no rubbing or VDC issues at all.

The car has since been lowered on coilovers and aftermarket suspension arms. My build project is still pending completion. So I have no new pics or drive time with the new suspension setup.
