Default losing air on one tire...

anyone had this problem? my front passenger tire is losing about 4 lbs of pressure almost everyday... i recently had my tires replaced and started noticing tat my PSI light would come on after 3 days of putting air in... i would put the pressure to about 40psi and then 2 days later i would find it at 32psi, and then a day later it would be at 28-29psi... i took it back to the shop i got my tires done at and they put the tire in water to check for leaks but didnt find anything... could it be the TPMS? any help would be appreciated....

I'd take it back to them again. If you're losing air that badly, there is something wrong with the tire or the mounting. Make them take the tire off and remount it and make sure they use bead sealer on it. If you don't have the time to take it in right away, I'd try putting a large amount of air (50-55lbs) in the tire, then bleed it back down to the correct amount. Let the air stay in the tire for a few minutes, then bleed it back. I've had leaks like that on new tires and also after I've curbed a wheel. The bead may not have sealed when they mounted it.

More than likely, it's the bead where the leak is occurring and it may only occur with the car on the ground or rolling. They need to dismount the tire, put some more sealant on the bead and remount it.

It could be a bad O ring on the TMPS. When I had my new tires mounted to my new wheels I had them put on new O rings on the TMPS on all 4 wheels. Check with soapy water as stated above.

It could be the stem, on one of my tires that was happening, it was dry rotted...

I had a similar issue, except 4psi daily is pretty noticeable when fully submersed in water. Mine was more like 5psi over the entire week. When they submersed it, no noticable bubbles came up. But when we let it sit until the water calmed down, we could see one bubble about every 3 seconds form around the area where the tire and rim met. They took the tire off, used a fine grinder to smooth out the interior lip, then applied that chalky sealant stuff. No problems after that...

yea no kidding, mine slowly went flat and I didn't notice it right away. Drove on it and destroyed the sidewall, had to buy a new tire for ~$350 just because of a .02 rubber grommet around the stem.
