Rims and Tyres for Track
Hi guys,
Read through a few 15 page plus thread a feel like I'm going round in circles!
Basically, I want to use the car for track/drift and occasional street- I've got some HKS coilovers going on the car soon and need to choose a wheel and tyre package that won't cause me scrubbing when pushing on track; been there before and its annoying!
So, I was thinking of some Rota GTRs or I think you guys call them P45's...18" by 9.5" and either et20 or 30 (bit limited in sizes here) Question is will the et20 be too close to the arch? Or will the et30's be tucked in too much?
Also want some tyres that don't have too fat a side wall...for space issues and because a thinner sidewall looks better!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!! I'm due on track on the 22nd and promise pics when I've got them and the coilovers on the car!!
Cheers

I run a 9" +22 and a 10" +35 on my car with -3 camber F and -2 camber R and I don't rub at all and my car is lowered 2". I run a 275/35/18 in the front and a 305/35/18 in the rear.
Mr Pilot your car looks great! Any chance of a spec run down? Interesting staggered setup you have, how does it handle?
David, I'd take handling and performance over looks any day of the week but big sidewalls just look silly!
Cheers

You can view the modifications on my cardomain page. Thanks for the comment!

The car is setup to run with a little oversteer and that's the way I like it. It's well balanced and an extemely easy car to drive at the limit.

You said "street" so competition tires are out. Street means DOT tires in the states. Don't know about requirements restrictions and selection in England.
Ah sorry David, by street I meant 'fast-road' really...which in real terms means the occasional blast in the english country side.
Awesome spec on your car Mr Pilot! Bet those rears are expensive and knowing my driving I'd wear them out pretty quickly! Pics are great as well btw.
