Can I get decent wheel/tire package for under $2K?

You can definitely get a wheel/tire package that will come fully mounted/balanced and ready to install on your car for less than $2,000 shipped. For strictly performance I would recommend sticking with an 18" setup as you can still get nice tires and stay under your budget. As others have mentioned Rota makes affordable wheels that work very well and look great.
Staggered setups
Rota Boost 18x9 +20, 18x10 +20
SVN-R 18x9 +20, 18x10 +20
Non Staggered setups
Rota Torque 18x9.5 +20
Rota P45R 18x9.5 +20
If you have any questions are if you are interested in any of these wheels let me know!

A couple people recommended sticking with 18's due to the tires. I've never owned wheels larger than 18's so can someone ellaborate what happend once you go past this? Are 19"+ tires harder to find? more expensive? less durable?

www.onlinetires.com has the best tire prices that i have found. they are not hard to find at all. now..20's are harder to find a variety of. I had 18 aftermarket rotas and I liked them alot but after a while i wanted either 19's or 20's to fill the wheel well more. If they had the rotas in 19's the time that i originally bought the 18's i definately would of got the 19's hands down. I would go for 19's....you don't want to regret not getting them in the long run.

In addition, the larger wheel diameter, the smaller the tires aspect ratio (or sidewall). If the roads where you live are smooth, then this doesn't matter as much.
However, if you have bad roads, with pot holes, dips, broken pavement, etc, the extra "cushion" of a taller sidewall may keep you from bending a rim and/or blowing out a tire.

When you increase wheel diameter you generally increase weight. Same brand - same tire. A 19 inch tire will be more expensive than a 18 inch.

for budget wheels, I'd deff get Rota's. Don't care what people say about how they are knock offs, for the price the wheels are great looking. imo
Plus they offer some decent offset on the Z wheels as well.

There is a set of Rota's I like that I'm still considering. I'm leaning towards the 19" Axis Shines though unless anyone would advise differently because of their past experience. One question. Regardless of what I order, will I need to specify an offset? My car is not lowered or anything (I have the anniversary 18" wheels now). What offset ranges and tire sizes will keep the wheels looking flush with the fender and not require spacers, rolling, etc? I would just hate to make a $2,000 mistake when I order something...especially if its online

I think it's because of a bad batch of axis hiro's that were cracking with one of the spokes but i have not heard of any shine's that have cracked..just that bad batch of hiro's.

My 18 inch Enkei RPF1 and General tires cost me about $1850. Now all you need to do is save $50 and you can buy some tanabe gf210 to lower your car.
or
You can buy my 18 inch nismo LMGT4 with tires and stance coilovers. PM me if you are interested
