Can I get decent wheel/tire package for under $2K?
Hi Everyone,
I have about $1000-2000 to spend on my 03 350z and I was thinking that since I need new tires, I might as well see if I can change up the wheels too. After being exhausted from looking at all the possibilities, I figured I ask the pro's here. Any suggestion(s) for a package that would look good on a silverstone 350z? I would like something dark silver or gunmetal and staggered (preferrably 3 piece if possible). I kind of like the Axis Shine's but not sure how good of a quality they are. Also, I'm not sure of the size I'd need and if 19"/20"s are impractical. I currently have the Anniversary Edition 18"s and they seem large enough but maybe I can go with 19's or something. Any input is greatly appreciated!

Race tires are much fewer for 19's and 20's if that matters to you. Personally, I think 19's look the best, but I'll stick with 18's since the tire selection is better.
You can find a set of Rota's for under $1,000 shipped and Kumho Ecsta XS tires for $1,000 or less shipped.
I bought my 18x9 Rota G-Force for $650 on eBay and spent another $1,000 on 275/35/18 Kumho XS's.
Let the Rota bashing begin!

It appears the volks are going to be more difficult to find. Anyways, I've attached 2 picks of each wheel (on a random 350z) if anyone would like to give me their opinion.

the answer is yes you can. you have to be pacient and look for good deals. and great point david... your upgrading the rims, do so as well with the rubber you wrap them in. and as far as tires go, i got the Nitto Invos and i'm in love with them. it was a bit more expensive, but i would do it all over again any day (oh yea and my patience paid off i actually had choices between volks and nismo and enkei's - ended up getting the 19' LMGT4's for a decent deal).
End result: pretty happy.
Good luck with everything. rims are a personal preference - for instance i liked the five spoke wheels you posted up, but others may like the other more.

Thanks for the input. Any recommendations? Those Nitto Invos seem pretty good for $650-$750 or so.

I have the shine's and love them.. i get compliments on them all the time. I got them for $2300 off of ebay with falken fk452's..they are 20's though...u seem to want 19's. i think 20's look sick on Z's if you are lowered..if you're not lowered I would stick with 19's.
You can get Enkei RPF1 18x9.5 +15 and 18x10.5 +15 for ~$1300.
You can get a set of Falken FK452 (245/40-18 & 275/40-18) for ~$600.
This will give you a lightweight, low offset wheel, with a very good tire.
All for under $2k.
I worked in the wheel & tire industry for 7+ years.
Falkens are one of the best tires on the market (performance per dollar). Nittos are a great choice as well. Many tires (such as Michelin and Goodyear) are overpriced. You will not get an equivalent performance per dollar out of a Michelin compared to a Falken or Nitto.
I'll put a $125 Falken FK452 vs a $250 Michelin Pilot Sport any day.
Check citytireonline for great prices & customer service.
Good luck with your purchase.

There are some good reviews on a few of the corvette forums as well. Great overall tires for an unbeatable price.
