Default 20 or 25mm spacers?

I just bought my Z a few weeks ago for $13900 (2004, 70kmiles) and was lucky enough to score a set of 18's already on it along with the stock rims. I wanted 20'' black rims w/ chrome lip but i'll settle for the 18's. My only complaint is that the rear wheels seem to sit too far back in the wheelwell which makes them look smaller. (see pic)

I'm wanting to buy some spacers, Could someone help me decide between 20mm and 25mm spacers?? I'm wanting to go 25mm (~1inch) but I dont want to have rubbing issues, or any other problems.

Tires.. 225 40 18's
Wheels are 18'' Tork Imagines, their site says the offset is: HPO/MED ..???

Can someone help me out?

wow, you won't have any problems with a 25mm spacer.

What is the point of getting aftermarket wheels if they are not wider than stock. A 225 on the rear. I bet that is fun to drive.

Take those tricycle wheels off and put the stocks on immediately.

This is not a request.

OMG...That is the worst offset/width I have ever seen on a Z. Don't even mess with spacers, take them off and sell them and get something (almost anything) else.

Rota's would be a huge UPGRADE over those.

Do you have any other pics for our enjoyment?

You guys are damn heartless... OP, in the meantime 25mm spacers would be sufficient, from what I can see you definitely will not rub. From what I can tell, you look to be at stock height? Your stance is definitely a big factor in complimenting what wheels/setup you might have as well, and cannot be overlooked. I would slap the spacers on for now unless you have the means to buy bigger wheels with the correct offset... No need to really spend more money now on fixing a permanent problem with a temporary solution.

that is hideous..... Here is my advice. Buy 25MM spacers all around (these will make your stock wheels sit flush), paint your stock wheels black, then mount. If your trying to save money and want good quality spacers PM HR Autoparts. He has great prices on Ichiba Spacers V2 25MM for 130 shipped per pair. They come with built in studs and hubcentric rings (this is a must have). Check this thread out https://my350z.com/forum/media-share...thread-15.html This will give you a good idea what your car will look like. Painting your wheels should cost aroud $50 bucks for everything. Good luck

It looks like the wrong tire size is in the rear. It actually looks Civic sized.

+1

I would just sell those, they are not worth salvaging with spacers.

Also, welcome to the site, and enjoy your Z.

Wow! Better pictures please!

IMO I would sell those and put stockers on. I was in the same boat as you are in but I had 1000 extra cash and my father was willing to let me barrow money for tires. I didn't really pay any attention to wheels size, offset, tire size, stretched, ect ect before but now I'm a wheel *****. I think your stance is what brings out the car the most.

This is before I bought my P45R. At first I was like hell yea look at my dope 19" rims and after a few months I hatted them with a passion. Still have them for sale! 600$ with 2 tires. No one wants them

Stock suspension. Like I said the rims were on the car when I got it 2-3weeks ago, and look much better than the stocks IMO. 25mm spacers for the rear have been ordered. Unfortunately I'm trying to get thru college and dont have the money to blow on a nice set of rims right now.

additional pics (for your enjoyment.):

Well I enjoyed them, but they don't look quite as bad from those angles. I understand you're in college and don't have money to blow, I've been there. It should look better once you get the spacers on, just realize the end product will still be arguably worse looking than factory wheels to most, and will likely weigh more and perform worse.

Best of luck and post up pics once you have them on, I'm sure it'll look at least...ughh...2 times better.

On the front, yeah, though he may need a 10mm. The rear will need a 20-25mm. That said, it still won't really "make a difference"

Are you kidding me!? Heck, even the stock 17" rims have better offsets than these!
