Most would be the "Aggressive wheels and stretched tire" folks that practically dominate this site if you haven't noticed. That's why I said it makes sense for the intended purpose.
Its only my opinion but I think the "stretched tire look" looks terrible...I personally like it to be flush with the rim or even stick out a little bit further.
You're going to be getting close to the strut with that offset and those tire widths. I was just saying be mindful of this.
He will have almost an inch.

I have noticed the "aggressive wheels and stretched tire" folks have one main thread going - it's like their little "please accept us" cult. Properly-sized wheels and tire guys have thousands of threads in the competition, drag, and autox/track forum. Just sayin'.

How much wiggle room will he have on the fender side? I'm trying to figure out if I am able to shove a 305 on 18*10+25. I may have to go with 295
I think there is room, but it may be close and require a roll. I run a 10mm spacer on a 19x10.5" +43 wheel with a 305/30/19 PS2 tire. If that were a 10" wheel, it'd be the same, on the outside, as a 10" +27. One thing to keep in mind is that a 305 tire is properly-sized on a 10.5" wheel minimum. See if you can find/buy a corded 305 for fitment. That's what I've done in the past to maximize tire size on our 3 Zs.

^That's great info. Being the anti stretch person that I am, I feel like I'm stretching with a 275 on 10.
IMO, 275 on a 10" is right at the limit. It's all somewhat tire dependent, however, I know that the 275 on a 10.5" starts to look a little stretched to me, and I don't like it.
