Default Just bought 19" TE37 Time Attack, please post some pics / recommend tire sizes

HI guys, for those that have 19" TE37 +22 offset (9.5 front, 10.5 rear), can you post some pics and list tire sizes.

I would like to see different profiles, what they look like, and how the different tire sizes affect the sidewall.

With +22 offset, do you guys have any brake caliper clearance issues with upgraded brakes?

thanks y'all

One more thing, curious why 19" rims are way more popular than 20" rims (with 350z owners) although 20" tires are generally cheaper?

Not sure if it helps, but I have a set of Volks same size (different wheels though). 255/35/19 front, 285/35/19 rear. Had to roll my rear fenders to fit the 285/35's. You might not have to with 275/35 rears. Here is what the tires look like:

My guess is you won't have any big brake kit clearance issues. But I don't know that from personal experience.

Are you sure 20" tires are cheaper than 19"? In any case, I think a lot of people around here are performance oriented and 20" wheels are usually heavy and the reduced tire sidewall makes for a jarring ride.

hey thanks for the pics sry110. Beautiful rims, beautiful car! I have the same front lip you do!

Yes 20" tires are typical $20-25 cheaper per tire as 19" are considered an 'odd' size. Do a search at tirerack.com and you'll see.

Did you lower your car at all? Cuz your rims fill up your fender wells nicely! good job!

judging by his signature i'd guess he's lowered on Hotchkis springs.

Yes lowered on Hotchkis springs (advertised 15mm drop front, 19mm drop rear). My previous wheels had 245/35/19 and 275/35/19 tires and I noticed that the 255/35 and 285/35 tires fill out the wheel wells noticeably better. The downside was that I had to roll my rear fenders to fit the 285/35's on a +22 offset wheel. I would like to go lower but as you can see I have ground clearance issues with the driveway, so for now I'll just run the fatter (and more expensive) tires for aesthetic purposes. I also noticed that the shock absorption over bumps is better with the higher sidewall.

On average 20" tires are $20-$60 more per tire, on TireRack. There are a few exceptions (mostly tires that are on special or clearence), but for the most part 20" tires are more expensive than 19" tires. I'm not sure where you're getting that info, I think you should go back to tirerack.com and look at more than 1 tire. What size were you looking at? You might have been looking at a particular size that is odd for 19" tires but not for 20" tires, such as a 30 series tire which not many people buy for 19"s.

I've looked at a few 20" tires, I found they did seem to be cheaper then 19"s.

Not Time Attacks, but same offsets and similar widths.

245/35/19 +22 front (8.5" width) with 275/35/19 +22 rear (9.5" width) in the pics immediately following. 255/35/19 front in the most-bottom autox pic, and not much room for more (but still no rubbing). There's not much room in the rear for much more tire without fender mods.

255/35/19 front tires
