Default digital tire gauge issue

My tire pressure guage thing thats in the dash read off by about 10 PSI. I.E. the actual guage reads 32 but the cars says 42.

Anyone got this issue, and maybe a easy fix?

Not too worried, just more curious

They're supposed to be ±1 PSI, so obviously something is off. Are you saying that all four in the car read 42 but when you read it with a tire pressure gauge, that reads 32 psi?

I doubt that all four in the car would go bad at the same time so that makes me suspect your tire gauge. What kind are you using? One of those $5 pencil gauges or some cheap plastic dial gauge? Those things are notoriously inaccurate.

You need to be using a high quality gauge like one of these...

Are these measurements within minutes of each other? If you manually check the tires when they are cold, then look at the inside gauge after the tires have heated up, there can be a good ±5 pounds.

taken in about the time it takes to get in and out of the car

Using a 80-90$ guage that we have hooked up to the air line. Has a needle, not the pop-out stick stuff.

and all the measurements are +8 to +10

Are you checking the correct tire ??? Ive seen the sensor swapped around before. It does throw people off.

I suspect that you're measuring the line pressure or some combination of line/tire pressure. As stated before, the TPMS sensors are accurate to within ±1PSI. It's very unlikely that all four have failed or are that inaccurate.

i do have this problem, all 4 are reading about 3-5 psi off. read some blogs, some people are having this issue.
manual cking is 35, computer gauge states 30-32 even sometimes 27 when it's really cold.

The colder it gets the less pressure you have. Pressure needs to be set when the tire is cold, its best to do them in the garage in the morning before the car is moved for the day.

Maybe it's the manual gauge that's off.

guys, it's very very obvious that Z gauge has problems. We all know the basics, cold, time ran, and ....
some are having this issue and some dont, but it's apparent there is such issue.
Just as the other issue they have, 06 Z has paint issues in the interior, basically batch to batch issue as well.
