Default Which Tire size to run with 19X10.5 Rears.

My tires are fine in the rear, its just that it doesnt seem like i get traction much when get on it. mainly from 1st-2nd-3rd gear. Right now i have Good Year Exclaim tires. im running 275/30/19 size tires. I know i should get 285/35/19 next time. but is there a better size that would help me get better traction in the rear? Or another brand tire? any help would be appreciated. thx.

Roll then , and go 285's, you will have a little more rubber on the ground. It will also change your gearing a little, that will help with putting the power down.

Definitely need to roll fenders with 10.5 width +18 offset, to fit 285/35/19's. Might even be able to fit 295s but I can only speak for the 285's from personal experience.

No they don't. Neither do 295s or 305s. It's offset dependent. Learn it, breath it, love it.

OP: Try a better tire and gentler gear shifting. A 275 is too small for a 10.5" anyway (in my opinion it starts to look stretched). At +18 you'll be hard-pressed to fit anything much bigger than a 285 w/o a roll, but rolling is easy. The extra sidewall of the 35-series will help settle the car also.

Not true. I'm running 285/35/19 with no problems. Toyo T1R's.

Now, the 305's (or maybe even 315's) I want to run soon will definitely need rolling.

I bought two sets of take-off 305s for our Z. I decided to run the PS2s, so have the RE050As for sale if you're interested.

305/30/19. They're posted here:

although I don't have confidence they'll work with your offset without a fender roll. Ours is +28, and even that is close (but has never rubbed).
