Default Toyo R1R vs R888

I'm debating on the next set of tires to get for my 17" wheels and I'm trying to go 275/40/17 all around. If anyone has used either of these I'd like to know how it went.

R1R
Overall Diameter: 25.6"
Overall Width: 10.8"
Approved Rim Width: 9.0-9.5-11.0
UTQG: 140 AA A

Overall Width: 11"
Approved Rim Width: 9.0-9.5-11.0
UTQG: 100 AA A

There are two possible ways I will be using these tires. #2 sounds more fun, just because I'm tired of rolling on 19's when I drive the twisties.

1. 500 street miles tops, just to and from the track

2. Drive to Deal's Gap and back for ZDayz and do track days afterwards

How much better does 140 hold up to street driving than 100?

I also need to compare the width of the Falken RT615 and the Toyo R888 in 275/40/17. Falken lists their tire as 10.0" wide while Toyo lists theirs as 11.0" wide.

Has anyone run the RT615 and R888 in the same size? If so, which was wider?

Trying to run 275/40/17 all around...

I just ran RT-615 275/40r17 recently for track use- i drove them to
and from track events and auto-x, i liked them-took a while to heat up
for auto-x but once warm did pretty good, on track days they would be
warm by 1 lap or lap and a half-would be good for about 8-9 laps then
would start getting greasy, sucked in rain-almost scary in standing water
also slippery on cold dewy mornings-had wreck in December from that.

my friend has the toyo r888's on his z and my other friend has the nitto
nt-01 on his porsche cayman- i am going to be buying the nt-01 for my
car next time(same compound but cheaper than r888)

the r888 run wide and so do the nt-01, my falkens were exact fit for 10 inch rim-my friends cayman has 10 inch rim and they hang over a little bit.

if you are not running track days you would be probably happy with the
140 treadwear tire-still a lot better than stock but still predictable and
give feedback compared to what a r-compound does.

you're comparing 615's to r888's? your post makes it seems like all you care about is width. one is a street tire and one is r comp. r comp's are usually wider than advertised.

if you want a street tire, get r1r or star specs, don't get the 615's.

if you want an r comp, get nt01, r888, or ra1 if you can still find them. unshaven, heat cycling them out will probably occur before wearing the tread out.

r comps will be noisier and throw a ton of sand and other debris up from the sticky rubber. but you won't be disappointed with their performance!
