you don't know that. it could have been a horse jockey or a small sized ninja driving, and he could have slid down into the pedal area before impact.

Here in Colorado, we have miles and miles of interstate separated by the typical wide safety zone, but then for some damn reason they put a "fence" of steel upright posts with 1" wide steel cable spanning the posts at three different levels.
I imagine the original thought was that these cables (which appear to be anchored to the ground sporadically) would prevent a car careening out of control across the safety zone from going into opposing lanes of traffic.
But the bikers here, they refer to these "safety devices" as "egg slicers".

They installed the "egg slicers" all over the chicagoland area in the past few years too.
I can't even tell that wrecked car is a porsche. nasty.
