Default Is +40 offset too much???

i dont know much about wheel sizes and fitments. this is the first time ive bought aftermarket wheels of any kind. maybe shoulda asked this b4 i ordered the wheels. theyre 19x8 +40 fronts and 19x10 +40 rear. ill be wrapping them in 245/35 and 275/35 tires. will i have fitment issues? will the rear wheels protrude past the fender?

it will be nowhere near the fender. it would look horrible. those are def the wrong sizes for the Z.

It'd more than likely rub on the inside where the rear shock is. It'll look like you have 4 midgets carrying a Z. (No disrespect to the midget population).

lol. guess im kinda relieved. i dont need it 2 be flushed with the fenders. never really had an interest in getting aftermarket wheels after owning my z for 2 years now. the left front oem wheels broke completely off of every spoke while drivin last week so had 2 get new wheels. figured might as well get bigger ones. oem was "17s

+20 is close to flush, anything more than that is aggresive imo. Since you already bought them you might want to run 20-25mm spacers.

8.5 + 10 is mildly flush, a 8" + 40 wheel is going to need 35mm spacers to look ok.

the rear isnt too bad, a 25mm spacer will fix it.

As a point of reference, my stockers are 18x8 +30. You're pushing yours back into the car 10mm.

To give a reference point my rear wheel is 20x11 with a +30 offset. You can go much lower so I would add at least a 20mm if not a 25mm to get them flush.

There are plenty of vendors on this forum that offer a variety of spacers like Ichiba and Project Kics. Just remember that there are two different type of spacers. One that require you to remove and replace the wheel studs (longer ones) and the others that have the longer studs already attached. The spacers with the studs attached (Project Kics) will be more expensive, but will allow you to easily install the spacers without headaches or money out of your pocket. A 20mm spacer all around will work just fine for you!

Return the wheels, by the time you spend an extra $250 on spacers, you could have bought better wheels.

As everyone else has said, those are the wrong offsets and will look worse than stock. A +20 to 25 offset in the rear would be good with 10" and maybe a +12 to 15 offset in the front with a 8" width.

Try and send the wheels back if you can and order the right sizes. Out of curiosity, what wheels did you get?

It seems like you already have the wheels ordered so don't sweat it. Just buy some wheel spacers, get two sets of 25mm 5 x 114.4. My rears were +35 and I didn't realize about offsets either originally. I ordered a 25mm spacer and they look fine now. If you can get out of the purchase still then order wheels with proper offsets, if not spacers work perfectly fine.

I bought Project Kics wheel spacers which you can get lots of places. Do not buy cheap ebay spacers because the wheel studs are cheap and not safe. Get a good brand like Eibach or Project Kics.

+40 offset is NSX/S2000 fitment. LOL

Please don't put that on your Z, it will look silly. The only reason you should go with high offsets is if you need really wide rubber (need clearance in the wheel well). However, you can only go so wide with an 8" rim up front. I think you're best off getting different wheels.

+1 on better rims with the right offset.
