I sure haven't heard of any "freak" 2005 cars being produced with TPMS accidently or on purpose but that sure is what it sounds like. If you ever get a chance to get near the ECU, I'd be interested in seeing what part number it is. I'm guessing it's not a base ECU as it wouldn't have the function enabled. Besides the ECU, you need the TPMS receiver and antenna built in. Not something that would be accidental IMO.

There is no 2005.5, only 2004.5 and 2006.5 are the ½ years.

How accurate are thos psi readings? If they are pretty good...it makes me wonder why this feature was taken out of the 07+ ones. It seems like a neat thing to have.

The manufacturer's stated accuracy is ±1 psi. Probably removed the display feature to reclaim code space in the computer for something else.

My '05 base is the same. I do have aftermarket wheels, and my multi function display reads the pressures accurately. We may be on to something here.....

Ha, I know!!! I found it odd that it said in the specs that TPMS wasnt included in the base, but I clearly have a base.

ok i will have a look 2mrw. will i be able to read the model number without disconnecting it and taking it out? do you think it could have anything to do with the 2005 being the anniversary year? i know i dont have the anniversary model but could it have anything to do with it being the birth year of the rev up motor? maybe it was just easier for them to put the psi gauge in instead of having 10 million different ecus? but wait then cruise control would have been added too right?

Just let me know where to find the part number on the ECU because I have TPMS on mine too

EDIT: saw you added instructions. Mine is not an anniversary edition just regular base.

im beginning to think the top 100 common question post is wrong! i respect all the info it has helped me with but i think that 2 many people have responded with an 05 base with tpms in the last day to prove it correct. im beginning to think that all 05 bases had tpms. until a person posts that they have an 05 without it i see an edit coming to the top 100 common questions

Looking like they adopted the change mid-year 2005. I move to amend the top 100 pending Dave's ECU confirmation.

Enhancements for the 2005 Nissan 350Z include a standard tire-pressure monitor

Reference: http://www.edmunds.com/nissan/350z/2005/review.html

Besides the tire-pressure monitor, all Zs now come with manual driver-seat height adjustment and heated door mirrors.
