anyone else tired of buying rear tires
looking to buy my 5th pair and at around $500 each time is getting a little taxing. my car has 52k as soon as i mount the new ones it feels like im looking to replace them..i dont drift, i am lowered but camber is set and alignment is good. i always look to buy high treadwear. these sessantas i just recently bought were the best tire yet but they didnt even last a year
hmm, something does not sound right or you are not telling the whole story, there should be no reason at all you should be replacing tires as much as you claim you are unless you are abusing them. you "claim" to not be drifting but doign burnouts in the parkign lot to impress the kiddes is just the same and will wear a tire down just as fast. and if youar epaying $500 for just the rear you are getting ripped off for that particular brand of tire. (a 275/35R19 on their website is only $197.00 for example)

WTF does ride height have to do with anything???
Toe and to a lesser extent camber will eat up tires, but please tell me how ride height effects tire wear. Shiet, by that rationale those monster truck guys must go 100K without replacing their tires
OP, something is not being said. 5 pairs at 52K is outrageous. You are either running tires with extremely low treadwear, or your car is severely out of alignment.

i was getting 2500 miles on my rear tires. No drifting or burnouts. I did occasionally autox/drag but not enough to wear the tires like that. Found out the alignment shop didnt set my toe right and left me with .5degree which is 5 times the limit.
Hopefully the new shop got it right. My ps2's are wearing a lot better now.

I agree. My car is lowered and I've had the same set of tires on the rear since I got it over 3 years ago (20,000+ miles). Probably have at least 5,000 left.
The fronts on the other hand...

that makes perfect sense...if your toe is off, you are just dragging rubber and will burn through them QUICK. OP, go to another alignment shop and see what they say.
I autocross a lot and go through all four tires at least twice a year. I mount and balance my own tires and have learned that having new ones standing by, allows me to run each set until I start to see cord. I probably get an extra event or two that way. But then I don't drive my Z all that much. If my tires are bald or close to it, and it's wet out, I just won't take the Z.

Alignment in our beaZts is critical for the longevity of our tires. Make sure that, whoever's working on it, is accurate/careful.

I get about 8k miles out of my rear tires, i do enjoy the occasional burnout but only one or three on a set of tires, but i buy 120 treadwear rated tires, I enjoy the handling that i get and that's what i find important, my rear tires cost 400 each, they are Pirelli Pzero Systems and are absolutely fabulous and if you want tires that stick buy these. I am running 245's up front and 275's on the rear.
I work at a shop so i save 20% on my tires but its still never cheap, I was considering going to something that lasted longer but i know it wont handle the way i want it to. But to each their own, it depends on your driving style.
You wouldn't believe people too that dont take care of their alignment and just assume the fact that in 30k miles they didn't have their alignment done and the tire manufacturer is going to warranty their tires. I have mine checked every 6 months, just to make sure i get the most i can out of the 400 dollar tires.
