Default Nitto Invo or Dunlop Direzza sport z1 star spec?

Been looking at upgrading the tires on my stock wheels, which are the 17" ones. I've been looking at invo's and the Direzza sport z1 star spec. I've previously had the invo's on my old 9-3. i was very impressed with the grip of these tires and was able to compare them to KDW's, which were on my ex's 9-3 viggen, and the invo's had quite bit more grip.

Seeing as they are with a $10 dollar price range of each other has any had a chance to compare the two?

The only down side about the Direzza is the 200 tread wear. I feel i would only get around 6k out of them. I tend to drive really hard and in my 9-3 i would change tires every 2-10k miles.

I was planing on running 225/45 front and 245/45 rear.

thanks,

- chris

any reason why?

I might consider getting the Falken Azenis RT-615, similar in price, good performance, but 8/32 tread with 200 tread wear could go fast.

I had direzza's, they aren't that bad in the dry but in rain by far one of the worst tires i ever drove on.

that is one thing i'm very picky about, i want a tire that is good in the rain. i was surprised at how good the invo's were in the rain. i expected them to suck with the solid patch of rubber on the outside but those 2 channels definitely did their job.

I have the dunlops now because they came on my car. I would have to say you could easily die in the rain...No joke. the first time I was in the rain I took a turn not even on the gas and the back end came around....I was very pissed.

Envo's for the street rock, and get seperate tires for the track . NT05's from Nitto if you need a duel purpose tire.

the z1 spec stars r great tires, in the rain dry they have been really good to me, the tread wear is a little lower but i'd get them again in a heart beat. i've never tried invo's so im not sure. I've driven about 8k on them.

also for others who said the direzza sucked... r u using the z101? the lower end of the direzza that might be your problem.

I'm getting ready to mount Dunlop Z1's on my rear's and once they wear out I'm gonna try Invo's. From everything I've read, both will serve you well...but the Invo's are a bit cheaper. Plus the Z1's only go up to 18"

I need to switch my rears to 265/35/18 on my 240sx. Are you looking to pick up a pair of the 275/35/18's? I have a spare set for sale if you are interested...I can do $360 shipped to you.
