245/45/18 fit up front in stock Z?
I wanted to get 245/45/18's for my stock '03 touring..... so i could rotate them and save tire life, do they fit all around ok?? anyone have any experience with that? Also is that just a stupid idea? or does that make sense? If it's going to effect my performance too much I won't do it. Thanks for any help!

Square tire setup may affect the function of VDC causing it to engage during normal circumstances thus making daily driving a pain in the butt because the VDC is programmed for difference in overall tire diameter created by having differing sidewall heights front and rear but if you had read the sticky threads placed at the top of this forum for your convenience or had performed a simple search you would have known that and your lack of effort to find a solution to your conundrum deserves a tiring lazy response on my part resulting in this near punctationless run-on sentence of grammatical horror.

I have no idea whether 68Stang bases his comments upon personal experience (running all-square 245/45-18”) or the manufacturer’s recommendation.
My comments are based in personal experience. I’ve run all-square 245/45-18” summer-performance tires and all-square 225/55-17” snow tires without any problem on my 2003 VDC-equipped Performance Z.
I should add this: I only ran the all-square 245/45-18” summer-performance tire setup one season (6 months) with a single rotation, and I don’t track the car. I have run the all-square 225/55-17” snow tires for three seasons with multiple rotations. And, the 225/55-17” tires are slightly taller than the 245/45-18” tires.
If you do run an all-square setup on a VDC-equipped car, you must be vigilant on your “rotation schedule.” The rears wear more quickly than the fronts (i.e., the rears will become smaller as to overall diameter faster than the fronts). VDC will not tolerate a tire with less overall diameter on the front than the rear. I got lazy about this, and am now running 245/40-18” front with 245/45-18” rear.
You also asked if 245/45-18” fit the front without rubbing. The answer is YES, they fit with no problems whatsoever. In fact, you could go wider.
Hope this helps,
