Default Tire howling fronts only!!! HELP!

Hey all

So i was checking my tires today to see how much tread i have left on the tire and it seems like a decent amount.

But from 0-30 or 30 and below braking, i would experience loud howling noise from the front and its getting rather annoying. I thought at first i was pretty low on tread and needed to get new tires, but after looking at it today it is not even near the wear bars.

I also checked the inside of the tire and it looks to be fine no out of normal wear indication of camber or what not.

I have a 03 performance no suspension mod, running re040 factory tires.

I will take pictures tonight when i get home

But is it just the tires it self is that loud?

Any help will be appreciated.

Those are the signs of the now infamous tire feathering problem. Toe-in is not set properly. You need an alignment and either replace the front tires or "flip" them (swap them side-to-side so the inner edge becomes the outer on the other wheel).

Note that the alignment won't get rid of the growl - it only prevents it from getting worse or starting.

The tires are already feathered and that's what's causing the noise. By flipping them, the inner tread block (where the feathering occurs) becomes the outer block and the new inner block is smooth again.
