Ok it took me some time due to weather(ie high humidity) but they are finally done and mounted. I took some in progress pics as well. It's not an easy job and you have to have some patience but they came out very well. I used the same method as what was described in the above post as well as the video I posted. The paint held up with the tire mounting so I'm happy with that. You would have to look very hard to be able to tell that they were not painted from the factory. I'm more than happy w/ this DIY and I give credit to the orignal poster for putting this up. It gave me the incentive and research to get this job done. Here's the pics. I was tempted to stick w/ the gunmetal color but I decided to go for the more factory look.

Don't have access to anything else. Sending it off to the body shop was not something I wanted to spend money on. I'm more than happy w/ the quality of the finished product.

Unfortunately according to all the powder coaters I talked with around here, it will not adhere to bondo. I had to use bondo to fill in the deeper nicks/scratches, therefore paint was the only option.

It's nice to see people doing work themselves!!! bravo, they came out nice. We def have a bunch of haters on here, LOL. Looks great and you saved coin. If they dont hold up, hopefully by then you'd saved up enough for other options or can just take your time and do it again.. Props to you!

i don't see why?........it's a very simple clean/prep (light sand blasting), coat, dry process............no past problems with my powder coated wheels.
