Default Requesting Pictures of 225/45/18 x 245/45/18 please

I'm somewhat a new member here so forgive me if there is a similar thread already. I've tried looking but the 18" wheelsize thread does not have tire size information.

I'm debating on which 18" size to go with for comfort and reliability. I'm currently running on 19s with 245/35. These low pros look awesome, but the bumps are making the wife nauseous and I have already taken some curb damage.

If I'm downgrading, I'd like the TCS to get happy again, so I'm leaning towards 225/45/18 and 245/45/18. Would anyone have this setup? Comments or pics please? How's the comfort and reliability, especially in California roads/rush hour?

Thanks!

Step 1 - Remove Wife from all Sports Car related thought processes
Step 2 - Sports Car and Comfort? Buy a second car to drive to work. Something cheap

If you really want to downgrade, a stock Z tire setup isnt going to really help out the ride to be worth the loss in my opinion.

ah I forgot there is a stock size in 18s. I'll look into that, thanks.

You're not married are you Omega? If I take your step 1, then there is no sports car to do step 2. :P

I was planning to keep my 19s, I just needed something for the commutes. I'll check the classifieds for some oems.

Thanks all.

Good point.

In fact the OP could go to any Nissan dealership and view this tire setup on many different Z's since it's a common OEM setup. There's no need for 2D pics when he can view the actual setup.

LOL No no no, I am not married just in a long relationship, even if I were to be, my process would be the same. I just don't understand the logic behind the whole "My Wife says no", "My Wife will kill me", "My Wife etc etc etc" concept. Paystubs and Quarterly Statements along with the Reg on the car say my name on it, not hers

If you decide on a stock setup, I would try and buy the best tires you can. Best of luck.

I agree... And, very nice pics of a great looking Z.

I'm wondering about the camera, lens setting etc. (since Scotts300's pics look so good and are "professional level").

Thanks!
The top 4 pics were taken by a professional for a calendar by Ron Kimball. The bottom ones were taken by me with my 7.2MP point-and-shoot.

Lots of pics with lots of angles. It's my wife's DD, and it's an 04'. I always thought the ZR should have Brembos also, and years later Nissan apparently agreed. The wheels and brakes are an upgrade, actually. Next they'll start painting the hoops body-color.

Scott - thanks for the pictures! And thats the exact color I have too so it helps a lot. Like I mentioned above, I'm kindof a newbie to the 350z so I forgot about the stock 18s. After doing some more research, I'm really liking those track v1. 18s for under 20lbs, thats hard to beat.

Thanks again all for the responses

You're welcome. I'm in SJ also - let me know if I can help you with anything else. If in doubt, call Z Car Garage as well and talk to Rob: 452 0350.

Here is another example of 225 45 18 and 245 24 18 tires. These are mounted on 8.5" and 9.5" wheels.

Ah nice, thanks. I'll need to start checking out the regional forums here. Looks like there are quite a few meets in the bay area.
