When IFORGED first offered their wheels here (first group buy) I believe the topic of the stepped lip was discussed and nearly everyone wanted to go the other route....maybe that's why the topic was never explored again?

really..ok...anyway...you guys might be familiar with my super long wait for my wheels

i just called ryan to try and change my order once again (im way too fickle)

hopefully he will do it for me

its a bit aggresive (gunmetal lip with bodycolor spokes)

i think it will look really good...but they might charge me to redo them...in my opinion they owe me a little freebie but well see

so what do you think of those colors

Man, I don't know. Not necessarily the colors, but you'll be looking at another 2-3 weeks delay, minimum, plus, especially with big lips, I would think it would be real easy to chip them if they were painted. I've got several little knicks in mine from rocks, tire tread on the track, dropping lug nut, etc. I did consider body color spokes with polished lips myself.

your probobly right about the delay

nicks and chips would look equally bad on a polished lip as they would on a painted one (i think ???)

i was just really excited when i thought about this setup

lets see if they will do it for me first

if not then ill just be happy with the brushed/polished setup

You can polish out a little blemish and it wont show, can't really fix a paint chip.

Just an FYI on the 'stepped lip' rims- HRE makes 'em both ways... everybody seems to like the 'reverse' lip, so the sales are strongest there. The major advantage of the 'stepped' lip is that they can directly accommodate the OE Nissan run-flat sensor.

We've been doing this for about five years for C5 Corvette owners in 17" through 20" diameters. HRE drills the valve stem holes specifically for the sensors, so the customer should specify that he has the RFS system (we will ask).

Best regards,

Bob
