Question Need help with wheel decision

Hello everybody. I've been lurking for a few days since I got my Z (Superblack Enthusiast). I need to pick your brains on a wheel decision. I like the Nismos and some of the Volks, but I've really been depleting the cash recently, so money is a problem. I'll be going with 18s for a while at least. The Privat Fahrens look great on JimH Sunset, and the price looks good. Anyone know anything about them? Another consideration is a used set of Rays tracks.

Suggestions/advice in this general price range? Polished lip would be a plus; no chrome. Thanks --Charlie.

Check out my Nissan page. Nissan pictures if you flip through the few pages there you should see about 3-4 sets of the Privats...and a few other options.

Thanks, Todd. I checked out the page. I don't know...On the DB Z the Privats look almost too shiny, but they don't on the Brickyard. Good looking wheels, though. I'll check out your site.

Nobody has an opinion? If it were just the Rays tracks vs the privat fahrens, which would you get?

I think the Privat Fahrens are wider and will allow you to run wider rear tires.

The OEM Rays rear wheels is only 8.5" wide. You can squeeze a 265 or even 275 on there, but it's not the best practice.

I think the Fahrens are 9" wide, maybe wider.... anyway, that is a better width for the 275 rear tire.

I recently ordered the hyper gray Privat Fahrens. There's a post with pics on the forum of someone with the hyper gray fahrens. They aren't as "shiny" as the opal ones that Jim has on his Z. I'll post pics once I have mine installed. I have a Pikes Peak Enthusiast.

Yeah, I think I'm hooked on that nice polished lip. I like a conservative look, but the tracks are just so skinny looking compared to these. I'd like to see them on your PPW, or especially on somebody's SuperBlack.

Phatmitzu, the Harts are beautiful all right, but the split spoke is just a little too fancy for the Z, I think--at least for mine.

I'm thinking the Hyper Gray Privats, and if they are too blingy, I could have the spokes powdercoated to tame them down. Is that lame? You know, when you first get a car, your judgment isn't always what it should be and you end up spending a lot of money figuring out what's right.

zsticklen,

when i checked last week todd @ discountiredirect said that they were out of opal for a few months. At least in the 20 and 25 offset that I got. I think they don't have 18x8 with 20 in opal.

just an fyi since your debating colors. i debated for so long only to find out the hyper gray is the only current option. I kinda like the contrast tho (at least in the pic) of the polished rim with the hyper gray spokes
