Official Aggressive Wheels & Fat Tires Thread
Alright guys, new scenario. I'm looking to run 18x9.75 E20 all the way around (would go 10" but the style I want doesn't offer it) and as for the tires, I was thinking about 275/35R18 front and 275/40R18 rear. It's a bit more conservative than the 285 or 295 people in here but I want to be able to run a square setup and 275s seem to be a little less expensive and there's less worry of rubbing than 285 or 295 (not that it really matters I suppose, just a thought).

I made a thread about this earlier but I have been running 275/40 Bridgestone RE050A's on Enkei RPF1 18x9.5 +15 at the rear for a couple years now. I got the occasional rub but it was only on steep low speed driveways or really crazy stuff like corning hard in a twisty and hitting a big bump, so I didn't really worry about it too much.
However now that it is my only car, I have started having passengers in it and it rubs more frequently with another person in the car.
I got a shop recommendation from Z car garage with the caveat that the risk of paint cracking is very real. I really don't know what to do, as I really don't want to risk paint cracking with fender rolling, trading one problem for another.
It doesn't seem to be rubbing very much as it takes weeks to notice any rubber build up. Should I just ignore it or is it bad enough that the risk of paint cracking is the lesser issue? Is a little rubbing bound to happen with a more extreme setup?

Yes if you go with a more extreme setup, more rubbing is bound to happen. Whether you go lower, more aggressive wheels, wider tires, or a combination of all.
When I talked to the guy at the shop I asked about paint cracking and they wouldn't' give me a guarantee it wouldn't happen or even suggest it isn't likely to happen.
I don't know why I always take the more extreme route and then complain about the consequences lol.

I am running Axis Hiro 10.5" rear with 325/30/19 and i am wanting to run the super hiro 9.5 with a 25 offset and a 265 tire on the front and i have the eibach sportline springs which take the car down about 1.2". does anyone know if this wheel and tire would work considering the offset?
