Default About Enkei Wheels

I've been doing a lot of searching for new wheels. I'm not going for the bling factor, but not too much for the performance factor neither. Volks definitely seem to be my favorite, and the TE37s look like they were made for Z, but that cost is just way beyond my budget.

I'm leaning towards Enkei, or other similar brands. Enkei's aren't considered a lower brand are they? What country are they made from? Been eyeing a couple of models but wasn't sure abou the brand.

What other brands are comparable? Something decent, but not the cost of another car.

Enkei is not a bad brand at all. They have been around for a long time, since the 1950s or so. Their lower price wheels are cast though. Work Emotions are another cast wheel in the similar price range.

You can consider the wheels whatever you want.

Some Enkei wheels, such as the RPF1, have earned popularity in autocross and open road racing. They are durable, reliable, and can withstand tossing in an out of the back of a truck.

Yes sir, if your going to get Enkei gets these. I personally hate the look but they are great wheels and very durable.

Enkei is a good brand that has been thought of in the past as cheap b/c you can buy them at such places as Discount tire. They, however, are also owners of very high end companies who make track proven wheels such as Advan.

They are considered a good price/quality compromise, while still avoiding the stigma of "replica" wheels. The right wheels (e.g. RPF1, NTO3-M), are strong, lightweight and most importantly, don't require a second mortgage on your house. These types of wheels employ a "MAT" process to form their barrels (rolled-formed, effects of which are similar to forging), with a cast center.

Well if they are considered comparable to the ebay no-namers, then there is no need to invest $1200 into these. I'd rather get the junk $600 ones. I'm wondering if they are worth the money, as they seem durable and somewhat popular.

It should also be noted that Enkei is contracted to produce many OEM wheels, which should add to their credibility.

They also work with AME (Believe manufacture, as my FS-01s say Enkei on them) which has grown very popular among the import crowd.

Enkei's are NOT a low quality wheel.

Seems silly to not want an off-brand wheel and want high quality for a low price... In automotive you get what you pay for...

The Enkei RPF1's are one of my favorite wheels. But you have to have a lowered Z to make the wheels look good. RPF1's on stock height will look awkward since the +15 offsets are pretty aggressive.

Remind me again why you "have" to have a lowered Z for them to look good?
