Default 9.5" wide 18" Wheels Tire Suggestions??

In bit of a loss as to what to do here I have some 235 40 18 inch Yokohamas. I would like to use on the front of my car which has Rota P45's on it are these tires just to small for the front of the car??? I would be going with a 275 40 18 in the back if that matters. I was hoping they would fit but am worried they may be too stretched? Any chance some one may have some pics of 235's on a 9.5" rim??

Or any advice???

THANX

What does too stretched mean? Too stretched for what?

265/40/18 or 275/40/18 - get new tires to protect your rims.

You should be fine with that size on the fronts. Since you already have the tires, definitely “mount-em-up” and see how they look and run.

235/40-18” tires are about 0.5” less overall diameter than stock, but that’s only a 2.2% difference (so it’s within "OD" tolerance and also will look OK).

A 235mm tire fits a 9.5” wide wheel and is within manufacturer’s specs, so again you’re good. It’s going to be stretched, but many consider this a good look.

Just be careful and don’t get close to a cement curb since your wheels will definitely be vulnerable to “curb rash” with this setup (that is slightly stretched).

Hope my comments are helpful to you,

Spike

one thing if you plan on doing this kind of setup you want to have aggresive offsets to look good. i have mine at +23 offset front & -2 offset rear with 25mm spacers

Some tires dont like being stretched. Right now Im running 235/40 18s Star Specs up front on 10Js and rears are stretching 265/35 18 Bridgeston B5000 shred tires on 11.5J. My suggestion is if you dont have to stretch tires, dont...Some folks do it for the looks, some for handling (less sidewall flex) and some for clearance issue.

An 18x9.5 net -2 will not work with a properly-sized rear tire though.

if you're going to run 275/40/18 in the rears then you should run 255/40/18 up fronts.. it keeps the ratio the same as stock..
