Dude keep the tires you have, dont buy new tires for stockies just wait until you buy all new rims/tires. Trust me, youll regret spending the money when it comes to the time when you want new wheels.
Also, IF you do, dont get 45's, youll have a bigger gap in the wheel well and tires will look too small for the car.

It sounds as though your problem is the 17” wheels.
If you go with a shorter tire (the 45 profile) on a 17” wheel, you car will look retarded unless you drop it slightly. If you don’t have $$ for different wheels, you probably cannot afford new suspension components to do the drop.
Here is an idea: Shop around for stock 18 x 8” wheels (you can get these cheap from someone swapping for aftermarket wheels.). Michelin PS2’s are great tires, but they are very expensive. Consider a less expensive tire to keep within your budget for a 17” to 18” wheel swap. I’m sure Neal can suggest a good tire that is less costly than the Michelins.
245/40-18” front and 245/45-18” rear is a good choice that provides very fun handling.
Just a thought…
